Mother Continues to Cry Out for Help as Trinidadian Son Remains Missing in Antigua

St. John’s, Antigua — The mother of missing Trinidadian national Thomas Vasquez is continuing to cry out for help, more than a week after her 21-year-old son disappeared in Antigua.

Candy Jageshar, speaking through a series of emotional social media posts, described the pain of not knowing her son’s whereabouts:

“My heart is breaking and I feel like I’m losing my soul. He was a big part of my life… I love him very much and just want to find him.”

Vasquez arrived in Antigua on Monday, April 14, and was last seen the following morning, April 15, between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. He is described as 6 feet tall, dark brown in complexion, with black hair and a chipped front tooth.

His clothing at the time he went missing remains unknown.

Jageshar said Thomas had been in the company of a friend named Solomon before he vanished:

“He loved his friends and was always loyal to them. And xxx was one of them, and look where we are today. He was in Solomon’s care and now he can’t be found.”

She called on Commissioner Jeffers, Inspector Thomas, officers at Wilikies Police Station, and members of the media to help raise awareness and assist in locating her son, adding:

“Please do your best, that’s all I ask. He is my firstborn child and my only son, and I really want him found.”

Jageshar also thanked the public for sharing her son’s missing notice after it appeared in local news on April 23, asking people to continue circulating the information:

“He is truly loved and missed by many, many, many, many who care and love him.”

Anyone with information that could assist in locating Thomas Vasquez is urged to contact (868) 343-3802 or (868) 304-0582.

  1. My Dear, you may as well give up. I know it’s hard but here in Wadadli we can’t even find our own, yes it’s now the norm here, where people just dissappear without a trace. Case closed.

  2. But what was his mission and purpose for being here. Is the nation to be held captive by any and every itinerant wanderer who ends up on our shores? The Immigration Department needs to provide some answers. Who (the hell) was he? When did he arrive last in Antigua? What was his purpose fir coming/being here? What was his intended address. Which local surities did he have? These are a few of the questions that demand answers before we strain our resources further trying to make sense from nonsense. Our police force is already strained to the max and we do not need them overly strained to the point of distraction to suit the timetable of official and unofficial criminal elements around us. Remain ever-watchful! These are desperate times and people are getting old!!!

  3. How can you tell a mother she might as well give up on finding her son, what an ignorant comment, chupzzzzz

  4. He was working in Antigua, and come on now even if he was visiting as a tourist and he went missing it would have been very sad.I hope and pray that he is found safe.

  5. Antigua’s police and immigration services have been broken for ages. The minister responsible for the services is ineffective, the Commissoner of police and his officers are under resourced and the public are left vulnerable.

Antigua is one of the few places where a murderer can literally get away with murder. The fact that a murderer can commit murder and continue to walk the streets unchallenged based on lack of evidence!

People disappearing without trace, police cannot workout the causes for the disappearances, no clues why these crimes are being committed, government ministers are not assuring the nation.

We have never discovered the content of the metal cabinet that arrived on the redundant “Antigua Airways”, carrying those West African so-called “Asylum seekers”. Could it have been a portable ice box for organ storages?

There are a number of foreign nationals coming from countries with diabolical and sinister lifestyle and those individuals should be scrutinised. They shouldn’t be allowed to go Unnoticed.
