As captured on surveillance cameras, the owner and her daughter were assaulted and reportedly robbed of over $1,400 in cash by gun-toting bandits.
The business owner reported the incident to the Dockyard Police Station.
Reportedly, the daughter was standing outside the counter while her mother was in the kitchen when a silver Toyota Noah motor van pulled up in front of the superette.
Four men exited the vehicle. While a pair reportedly stayed outside,
the other two ran inside the business with chrome pistols in their
hands.
One of the bandits allegedly rushed up to the younger woman, grabbed her by the throat with his left hand, and, with his right hand, pointed his weapon at her face and demanded money.
Reportedly, she indicated the cash register that was behind the counter and the perpetrator took $225 from it.
The mother, who had heard her daughter scream, ran out of the kitchen to see what was happening.
At this time, it is alleged that another perpetrator, wearing a red hoodie and carrying a gun, attacked the business woman by kicking her in the stomach and ordered her to lie on the floor.
The woman immediately complied with his instructions. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP
Reports say the perpetrator then proceeded into the kitchen and stole the woman’s leather shoulder bag containing $800 in cash, along with documents belonging to the owner, and another bag containing $400 and documents belonging to her daughter.
The owner’s spouse, who was next door, also heard the screaming and tried to rescue his family.
However, he was unsuccessful, since one of the perpetrators stationed outside pointed his weapon at the man and discharged two rounds. Luckily the man was not injured.
The perpetrators then got into the silver Toyota Noah van with gold rims, registration number C822, and fled the scene.
Both victims had to seek medical treatment.
With the robbers still at large, residents across the island are in fear, and calls are being made for the Police and the minister of national security – Attorney General Steadroy “Cutie ” Benjamin – to act swiftly to bring the crime situation under control.
They say that this type of activity cannot be allowed to become the new norm. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP

I promise you this, if I am there and with a firearm, I am going to die or they are going to die. But as they stated, there must be a reason to delay a man of law and morality his firearm.
I now wonder if @Ras smood statement is true about the involvement of some people in authority.
Why would they delay me?
Why the man that confront criminals was constantly charged for obstructing and intercepting criminals and crimes?
Why this man was charge when the evidence, the clear and convincing evidence available showed this man was always in the right, yet he was charged for defending and protecting lives from criminals taking them?
Why? Why did my rolemodel Cutie Benjamin as attorney General allow these things to happen, including the delay of my firearm full license?
Why are they ignoring my sound recommendation on how to prevent these crimes from occurring? Why?
Why not utilize experts in this field? Why

Well said
@ U & I, I’ve been preaching this for years. It’s just ludicrous and unbelievable that you’re running a police force without out a proper communication and patrol system.
I listened the Commissioner try to explain to us how guns are gutting on our street. Man! we don’t want to know this. We want to know what you gonna do about it, also we don’t want to know how much money the force took in for the year, you know what used that money and invest in a proper radio communication and patrol.
These criminals are tall and lanky. Has anyone been victimized by people with these descriptions before? Police check your records if you keep one. This is how these individuals make a living. They are going to continue their crime spree until they are either caught or shot dead. They seem to have no problems obtaining guns.
What kind of police force do we have in Antigua? Police should get off their behinds and go do police work. If they are incapable, then other law enforcement officials should be brought in. It appears that not even the AG cares about the crime situation in Antigua. Where is his statement of action? We need to get rid of those incompetent people in the police force, starting with the police commissioner. Police should not be there only to protect their masters but to protect society. Is the AG concerned with the safety of Antiguans or self preservation.
I agree with @ Carvaa. Use all the money collected to invest in communication equipment and additional police vehicles. It has become to easy for the criminals to rob people and get away with it.
