The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) revealed eighty-seven (87) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 21st September 2021 at 6pm.
One hundred and fifteen (115) samples were processed at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and one hundred and eighty-two (182) were processed by CARPHA.
One hundred and seventeen (117) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four (1854).
One (1) Covid-19 related death was recorded increasing the total to sixty-four (64).
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is two thousand nine hundred and two (2902); which is inclusive of nine hundred and eighty-four (984) active cases. There are fifty-six (56) hospitalized cases; thirty-eight (38) mild, three (3) moderate and fifteen (15) severe.
Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated forty thousand six hundred and seventy-two (40,672) individuals while seven thousand nine hundred and eight (7,908) have only received their first dose.
