9

After prayerful consideration and out of the abundance of caution, the Executive Board and Ministerial Staff of the Moravian Church Antigua Conference have agreed to transition exclusively to online worship services in light of the rise in cases of the Coronavirus, COVID-19 in Antigua and Barbuda.

This will take effect from Sunday, 21st February – Sunday, 28th February, 2021.

With immediate effect Funeral Services will be conducted at the cemetery only. A limit of 25 persons, as stipulated by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda are allowed at the cemetery. Please be guided accordingly.

Board meetings and other scheduled meetings should continue via conference call or other online media such as Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp, etcetera, as the circumstances allow.

Only have physical meetings if there are no other options.

Visitations are still suspended in an effort to safeguard the sick or elderly who may be at risk.

In the interim, Pastors, Elders, Stewards and the general membership are encouraged to call to check on persons by telephone and help as needed.

This will be reviewed on Thursday, 4th March, 2021.

  1. I shall build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I find during these times the people of God have been too silent that you really have to wonder. They talk about faith but i am seeing alot of fear. You should use wisdom in everything but i am seeing fear in everything.
Let God arise let his enemies be scattered, this is not about covid only its about control mostly

    • Give me a break. How many people have Christians played a role in healing during this pandemic or before? How many have you all raised to life? Quoting Bible verses isn’t helping during this pandemic but commonsense responses are. Jesus and the church have absolutely no power when it comes to real life issues so you can go ahead and talk about “Let God arise” because “god” hasn’t done and will not do shit in this crisis or beyond that. Time for black people to forget this church crap.

  2. The Moravian Church has taken a major leap forward in the midst of this horrible pandemic. The Moravian Church worldwide is just a tiny denomination (most people around the world have never heard of them), yet they have been in the progressive tradition since their founding, even back to days of slavery…their voice has been heard loud and clear. God bless the good people of the Moravian Church, in the Name of Jesus. Thank you for showing forth responsible leadership is this difficult hour. I am not Moravian, but I am a Christian, and you have my respect.

  3. How Sweet The Name Of Jesus Sounds.Funerals should be able to be held in the Churches. That in my opinion is the last gateway on earth into Heaven.
