The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has indicated its readiness to administer the annual Grade Six National Assessment that begins on Wednesday.
Assistant Director of Education, Measurement and Evaluation Education Ineta Francis says final preparations are being put in place ahead of the two-day assessment.
A total of 1,355 students, from public and private institutions in the 11 plus age group will undergo the assessment at 37 centres.
On Wednesday, pupils will be assessed in Language Arts and Science, while on Thursday, Mathematics and Social Studies will be administered.
The Grade Six National Assessment is a final evaluation for primary school students. Following the assessment, teachers will be selected by education officers to grade the work of the students in the various subject areas.
Marks will then be entered into a database, before a performance analysis is undertaken and secondary school placements are finalized.
Education Officer Ineta Francis is extending best wishes to the students ahead of the assessment, adding they are well prepared and should all do well.
