MINISTRY OF WORKS SAID: We always welcome feedback when it’s directed at the right agency.
In this case, the criticism is misplaced once again.
The installed speed bumps on Valley Road through Jennings was not caused by Public Works but due to APUA’s lack there of addressing the piping issue which requires the basic installation of fixtures by APUA
For quite some time, we have been requesting APUA to resolve this issue, yet they have yet to provide a reasonable solution. The speed bumps in question exist because APUA did not install the proper fittings to lower the piping, which would have allowed for a levelled surface. This is a matter that falls under their responsibility, not Public Works.
Before making public statements, it would be best to ensure the correct information is being shared. Infrastructure work is complex, and it’s best left to the professionals who are actively working to improve the roads.
While we do appreciate your feedback and interest, in the search to assign blame, don’t forget to also highlight the hard work being done by the Ministry of Works, work that is clearly documented and shared for transparency. Progress is being made, and misdirected accusations only serve to demoralise the very people working to improve our infrastructure.
We will hold the right agencies accountable because getting the facts straight has been challenging, as evidenced by this post.
Frank Southwell SAID:
Update and APOLOGY: I wrongly blamed this engineering nightmare on the C O. Williams engineers. For that, I apologize.
This senseless culvert job on the Valley Rd through Jennings, which left two ridiculous humps, was actually done by the PWD engineers. COW’s job was to only pave their blunder.
This is so sad. A job as simple and routine as this could not be properly done by OUR engineers? Maybe someone can explain… what were they thinking of.

Who cares?? Fix it!!
Good to see the Ministry addressing concerns.
Will this lead to real fixes or just another press statement?
hopefully, something good comes from this.
Hope this isn’t just talk; real action is needed.
Waiting to see what changes.
What they need to fix in Jennings is the hump in the road by the super market with the Lucozade graphics and the Bridge as you’re turning off of All saints Road into Herbert’s on the left by Belmont Clinic which only allows one car at a time. Who ever built that bridge clearly doesn’t know the width of a passenger car or typical SUV
Ministry of works need to get their acts together. They working too slow. How can you have so many workers and little work is being done. Some workers don’t want to do their work because ABLP is in power and they support UPP so they don’t want ABLP to look good. Get up and do your work because this is not about politics, it should be for the love of your country.
All this can be fixed if Gaston says so on Saturday coming. Roads fixed because he barked…traffic lights started working because he barks. If you want things done bring it to Gaston’s awareness.
All of them are one huge PAPPYSHOW
Would love to hear public works explain how their alleged engineers proudly cemented in place those drainage grates in the city.
Another ALP idiot suggesting sabotage to cover for the incompetence we have in APUA and Public Works, the vast majority of these workers support ALP and have their jobs because they support the government, they do not know their asses from their elbows, that’s the reason for the poor work they give us
You should also know that when a party take power, they will select loyal employees in these government department that supports them which inadvertently leads to square peg in round hole, so that’s how the system role where they leave out the perceived opposition supporters who may be professional at their job description.
@Simple things shouldn’t be this complex – Yes, that stupid culvert needs to be fixed. Very dangerous
