Ministry of Works announces road closures

Works: Construction Works by C.O. Williams on Valley Rd North and on Sir Sydney Walling Highway.

Ongoing works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation project will result in: road closures, slow moving traffic as well as single lane traffic on sections of Valley Road North (VRN), along sections of Sir Sydney Walling Highway (SSWH) and Old Parham Road (OPR). Details of the traffic interventions are as follows.

ROAD CLOSURE     Date Starting: from Saturday 2nd July 2022.

A section of OPR will be closed to through traffic as of this weekend. This closure will be controlled by Flag Persons who will be on hand to facilitate access for local traffic and the movement of Emergency Medical Services. This road closure will be ongoing to facilitate asphalt work in the area.

Road users are urged to plan their route (with diversions on OPR from SGWH to CIBC First Caribbean Bank) to ensure they arrive at their destination on time as ongoing road work could cause traffic delays.

The traffic interventions for this week include:

Valley Road North (VRN)

  • Single Lane traffic on a section of VRN between Little Creek and the Chinese Bridge
  • Single Lane Traffic on a section of VRN from Chinese Bridge working northwards

 

Date: Tuesday 28th June 2022.

  • Single lane Traffic on a section of VRN between the turn of AMP and Chinese

Sir Sydney Walling Highway (SSWH)

  • Intermittent single lane traffic on SSWH in Glansville to lay APUA water mains.
