In response to a media article and related public discourse regarding COVID-19 and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs, kindly note the following:
Based on the most recent information presented to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, a gentleman is being tested for COVID-19.
Two (2) members of staff of the Ministry of Agriculture,
Fisheries, & Barbuda Affairs who currently reside with said gentleman were placed under quarantine as is customary.
On becoming aware of the situation regarding said gentleman both members of staff contacted the Ministry and have not reported to work.
Please be informed that to date, our records show that there are no other members of staff under quarantine and no member of staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Barbuda Affairs has been tested positive for COVID-19.
Also kindly note that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Barbuda Affairs strongly supports, promotes, encourages and practices the protocols as recommended by the Authorities which include: Hand Washing, Wearing of Mask, Sanitizing of hands (also installation of Sanitizing equipment), Wearing of Mask, social distancing and sharing of information with Staff and the General Public.
