The Extension Division within the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Barbuda Affairs is conducting a Backyard Gardening & Hydroponics Training Programme.
Ms. Efuru Elihu, Backyard Garden Facilitator, is the coordinator of the program with administrative support from the Division.
The Training Session will be conducted in two (2) phases. The first phase commenced yesterday where they were fifteen (15) participants.
This will run until 16th December 2021, while the second phase will run from 3rd January 2022 to 10th February 2022.
Some of the Topics to be covered include Intro to Backyard Gardening (BYG), Food & Nutrition in BYG, Fertilizers Application Management, Vermiculture, Livestock Management, Beekeeping, Agro-Processing, Budding & Grafting, Insurance, and Agri-Financing.
Participants will be immersed by lectures from presenters from the Agricultural Extension Division, the Ministry of Agriculture, and other key support partners both from the public and private sectors.
Sessions are held at the St. Mary’s South Community Centre. Note Registration is already closed for this session.
