The Ministry of Health today distanced itself from a video of an individual beating another person and claiming that the beating took place at the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital in Antigua.
“The Ministry wishes to state categorically that no such incident, as displayed on the said video, occurred at the Clarevue Hospital in Antigua, either in recent times or in the past,” a release said.
” The Ministry condemns the irresponsible use of social media for such wanton and malicious disinformation in an attempt to discredit the management and staff of the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital and by extension the Ministry of Health, Wellness & the Environment.
Further, the Ministry assures the public, especially the families of the patients of Clarevue that the management and staff of the institution will continue to administer the best possible care and treatment to their loved ones.
It is not the policy of the Clarevue to resort to barbarism and to inflict beatings on the men and women resident at Antigua and Barbuda’s sole mental institution.”
