Minister of Health returns from China trip, wishes Antigua and Barbuda was as advanced

The Minister of Health gave a report on his recently-ended trip to China and noted the research that is being done to address diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancers and organ failure.

He noted that the data collection system in China is extremely thorough and wished that similar standards could be achieved in Antigua and Barbuda and other OECS countries.

For Small Island Developing States (SIDS) globally, data collection has proved extremely challenging; only by digitizing data collection can the gap be closed, he surmised.

  1. ANtigua’s health system is in a shambles because of persons like you MALWIN. Good grief!!!! Are you blind are you senile to not realise you are a big part of the problem.

  2. I wish there were fair, competent, innovative and great leaders in Antigua and Barbuda.

    These are the things I was saying to the public that instead of trying to win an election with gutter cleaning and tree cutting, such things should have already been a part of the upkeep of the nation and instead more advanced promises like research in cancer, diabetes etcetera.

    Promising advance equipment in medical research, along with highly trained staff. Not the bottom and worse staff.

    Village or parish trust funds

    Village or parish owned stores and even hotel that belongs to each Village and profits are used for the village. Whatever the village produces, sells at the store.

    Making it mandatory for all hotels and restaurants to purchase 1% or 10% or some reasonable percentage of their menu to be made from Antigua and Barbuda Products. 5% Caribbean region products. Such may be waived in certain situations.

    I must say 99.9% of tourist want local food, I go to all these restaurants in Antigua when I was visiting, and I enjoyed none of the food. It was like eating at the olive garden or red lobster or pizza hut or dominoes.

    The restaurants in Antigua were doing nothing special.

  3. Remember, the health and care of a nation is judged my how politicians invest in policing, Homeland security and hospitals with adequate equipment, staffing; and an economy that isn’t spiralling out of control.

    Molwyn Joseph has FAILED.

    The police Commissioner has FAILED.

    And most importantly of all, the Prime Minister has FAILED miserably!

    CHANGE CAN’T COME SOON ENOUGH TO THIS BEAUTIFUL ISLAND.

  4. This man goes all over the place fronting, while Antigua and Barbuda’s health system lies in ruins. This man is bad-minded,arrogant and incompetent. All that falls under his ministry is just not functional and he thinks people want to hear him?
    Yet the people of SMN stupidily voted to put this man back there after the Covid-19 disaster, for which he was knighted. That’s just the nature of this beast.

    • Yes @ Watching, it beggars belief that this man was honoured. What for?

      He was behind the implementation of the dangerous blood-clot forming Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccines on my fellow Antiguans; and furthermore, there are now two GROUND-BREAKING court cases going ahead in the UK, from two families about one death immediately after vaccination, and another case about a sudden collapse and brain hemorrhage of an IT engineer leaving permanently paralysed; the cases focuses especially on the lack of information to the general UK public on the dangers of AstraZeneca.

      If anyone of these court cases are successful, it is predicted that a massive UK wide class-action suit will follow, and then globally. Wow!

  6. Minister of government went away for a few years and realize the government is incompetent. Now, imagine how I feel being away for decades and now see how horrible and horrific condition Antigua is and potential it has that will never be realized because of the mentality of the people and their politicians they love over progress.
