  1. WOW…Hon.Dean Jonas is my Representative in St. George . I will await to hear more details . We in St. George are very sorry of this news.

  2. Does this mean that he is still employ by the government but don’t have a ministry, something similar to Asot Michael?

  3. DEAN OF AGRICULTURE – – PUBLIC PRONOUNCEMENT – DONE WITH AGRICULTURE

No pragmatist Prime Minister makes ‘…Public Pronouncements’ idly. No Sah.

As far as is known, the axiom ‘…Shape Up or Ship Out’ often means either a ‘…Second Chance’ or an extended ‘…Opportunity for Redemption.’

It also means that a ‘…Hammer’ will be ‘…dangling precariously’ over the head of the ‘…Second Chancer.’

Silent or secret war, one slip of the tongue, whether ‘…inadvertently or deliberately,’ the ‘…hammer’ is always readily poised to be dropped.

Always knew that ‘…teaching the theories of Agriculture’ in a class room is clearly not the same as ‘…plowing land and planting seeds or leguminous crops or vegetables in fields.’

Not sure what the hell may have happened or may have been said, but from the time of the ‘…Public
Pronouncement,’ with no time to actually ‘…Shape Up’ and no agricultural produce to ‘…Ship Out,’ the darn hammer, ‘…impendingly,’ dropped’ on the ‘…Dean of Agriculture.’

  4. You mean suspension? The letter from the PM says this withdrawal and termination will be for a period of six months after which a decision may be taken to reverse today’s decision

  5. Gaston did the right thing. Jonas must get out and hit the road Jack. What he know about agriculture? Go now.

  6. He lied. He did tell Dean to get rid of the workers if they were not up to scratch. Now he has met the workers and has promised them a solution in 2 weeks. He made a fool out of Dean and threw him to the crowd that had blood in their eyes. Bad as Dean is, that is unethical and despotic treatment. Of course, they directed their anger at Dean because they don’t dare direct it at the TD. This is how this country is being run. Just state your displeasure, aim your anger at someone the boss does not like, get him to come and make promises and you’re all set.Meantime, the TD gets more and more dictatorial. Antigua is sinking into an abyss.

  7. @ MR. POMPEY

Mr. Pompey…This is NO Rejoicing matter. This is my Representative got thrown under the BUS. I do not know why the HELL ..You Mr. Pompey and others are rejoicing . Hon. Dean Jonas has done a great job. I hope He will still run in St. George . No One can beat Dean Jonas in St. George. Please stop the laughing and be serious when things like happen. Surprise at you Mr. Pompey. You should know better.

    • He is not thrown under any bus-his Ministry is clearly the least performing of all. Really, what do you see coming out of Agriculture? The days of just winning a seat is over,it is all about Performance after.Having said that, maybe he was just in the wrong position..Also read through the lines of the letter, making certain decisions should be done collectively, when you defy authority it is a sign of arrogance..

    • REJOICING? – CAMPAIGN – NA- A-AH!

You just might be considered a ‘…Dolt,’ whatever the hell that means.

Rawlston Pompey is neither a ‘…hanger’s on,’ nor a singer.’

      Clearly, you are in denial.

Please do not link or associate ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ with anyone’ who offered comments on this page.

However, feel free to attack anyone you so desire.

Not sure what the hell trail you are on, but if ‘…Campaign,’ you probably need some ‘…Champagne.’

That you can get either from ‘…Dean Jonas himself; …the Prime Minister or at Kennedy’s.’

The latter has a ‘…World of Liquor and Liqueur.’

But know that Rawlston Pompey got to remain sober-headed to see missiles coming through.

Got to be prepared and alert to shoot down ‘…Missiles or Drones’ intruding in his ‘…No Fly Zone.’

If it pleases you, the Prime Minister is not ‘..social friend’ and so is the former Agriculture Minister.’

Do have the greatest of respect for both men.

Though not with regularity, ‘…they do greet and speak most respectfully.’

And that is all. Yes, that is all.

Now, on a more cordial note, if you feel strongly that ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ should ‘…celebrate and rejoice over the ‘…former Agriculture Minister’s demise,’ then he has no appetite for liquor or liqueur.’

So what the hell is there to rejoice about?

  8. I am trying to hear the real reason for firing Hon. Dean Jonas….You cannot fire Someone if the staff does not like the Person. We in St. George are NOT happy. Prime Minister ….Please address Us in St. George. Hon. Dean Jonas WON BIG in 2014 and 2018.

  9. Still confuse as to why Hon. Dean Jonas was relieved as minister and fired from the Govt……… The PM owes us the electorates an explanation as why he chose to humiliate the Mr. Jonas in that matter….. Why didn’t the PM reshuffle the govt and place Mr. Jonas to another ministry? This looks very personal…..! History indicates that both parties seem to be having conflict for quite sometime now.

  10. The Prime Minister has the sole responsibility to appoint and disappoint his Ministers. The manner in which Mr Jonas was fired was both humiliating and unfortunate. Could have been handled much differently.

  11. This PM is getting more ARROGANT and self centered day by day…..also it appears the young ministers are afraid of him. St. Georges Rep. Stay calm, maybe you will have the last laugh.

  12. He never did anything for his constituency anyways just walk around and give calendars the road them still wah fix plenty stuff they fuh do

  13. ALL YOU GUYS ON THIS PAGE INCLUDING MR. POMPEY ARE HYPOCRITES. HON.DEAN JONAS IS MY REPRESENTATIVE…HE WAS FIRED IN A HUMILIATING WAY.NO ONE MENTIONED THAT…..BETTER I VOTE UPP NEXT ELECTION. THE PRIME COULD HAVE THIS IN A MORE HONOURABLE WAY. I AM PISSED.

    • IDIOSITY – STUPIDITY AND IGNORANCE

People who visit this news portal and follow the comments under the news, know that ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ do not take kindly to people who, either out of ‘…lack of understanding or who, to all intents and purposes, deliberately ignore the very news they have read, and calculatedly’…jumped on him.’

Even by ‘…cowardly hiding behind this pseudonym,’ he would be ‘…Standing Stronger.’

Can tell you something though, your problem seems to be what is considered ‘…Man’s Gravest Enemies.’
      Identifying them are ‘…Ignorance; …Idiocy; and …Stupidity.’

If you have a grouse, suggest that you ‘…Jump on the Prime Minister.’

According to the news, he was the one who sacked your Representative for ‘…inefficiency and incompetency.’

As a matter of fact, ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ heard audio clips where the Prime Minister told him to ‘…Shape Up or Ship out.’

Was wondering what the hell that meant, (don’t believe so though) until ‘…Antigua News Room’ reported that he was fired from the assigned Ministry and sacked from the Gaston Browne-led Cabinet.’

Even if it annoys you, and it is so intended, speaking only for himself, whether or not he had ‘…Shape Up or Ship Out,’…that had absolutely nothing to do with ‘…Rawlston Pompey.’

Your Representative may have ‘…Jumped,’ rather than waited to be ‘…Pushed and Shoved’ and according you, ‘…humiliated.’

Next time choose a Representative who would give you good representation.

Someone who may not be seen as ‘…egoistic; …pigheaded or as a ‘…block-headed mule,’ but shall be seen as ‘…affable; …approachable; …cheerful and obliging; …efficient and ministerially competent.’

      Please leave ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ alone.

      Tawk good and wawk good.’

New words for my ‘gud frens ‘…Ras Smood; …Duncy Bat; and …Rock Head.’

      • IDIOCY

A darn word in the caption is spelled wrong again.

        ‘Idiosity?

        Wrong like hell.

        Should be ‘…Idiocy.’

Have it right in the middle though.

        ‘…One of man’ gravest enemies.’

Really and truly, it has never troubled man.

But one always know that ‘…sub ‘n wrong’ when man ‘…starts behaving and ‘tawking’ like an idiot,’ especially when they called people ‘…HYPOCRITES.’
