Michael Joseph has emerged victorious in the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party’s (ABLP) primary election for the St. John’s Rural West constituency.

The primary, held on December 8, saw enthusiastic participation from party members, culminating in the selection of Joseph as the party’s candidate for the upcoming elections.

Michael Joseph, one of the five aspirants seeking the ABLP candidacy, secured a notable victory in the primary, earning the trust and support of party members in St. John’s Rural West.

The announcement of Joseph’s victory has been met with enthusiasm  among ABLP members.

  2. Congratulations young man, I hope you realize the work starts now. Make sure this time around ABLP takes that seat. Just like Londle Benjamin did.

  3. While the ABLP gets ready for the next election, we still have no idea who the next leader of the UPP will be. It seems that the UPP is avoiding holding a leadership election. Why is that? Does the UPP not think that it is important for the country to know who is its representative for the seat of Prime Minister? Continuing to refer to Pringle as the political leader will only do the party harm going forward as Pringle is not a viable option as leader. Many people who may vote for UPP will not vote for UPP if they believe Pringle will be the UPP Prime Ministerial candidate as he is not a credible candidate for PM. This issue of leadership in the UPP needs to be settled sooner rather than later.

  4. That was just a farce; there was no such thing as a primary , as there’s no democracy in the ALP. The Gentleman had already been handpicked by the Dictator even before we ever heard of him. Those numbers are all fictitious, as there are no elections in a cult.

  5. Congratulations! Now that you’ve secured the nomination we expect you to advocate for the community. No standing around like Shugy, Serpent & the murderer Sheffield & Asot who uses every excuse not to show up in his constituency. They haven’t done one thing.
    I wonder if Red dead, then why are so many UPP & DNA members running to put on a red shirt and call themselves comrade.

  6. Hearty congratulations to Michael Joseph on being democratically selected in the primary election of St John’s Rural West.

    However winning against your fellow ABLP members is one thing but trying to win the seat from the UPP’S outstanding and Honourable Richard Lewis who TRIUMPHED at the last General Election is another thing.

    UPP, THE WAY FORWARD OUR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN FUTURE …

    If this is so, he is another gaston toilet-paper.

    Antiguans and Barbudans know that gaston do not like independent thinkers around him.

  9. **Based on historical observation and analysis

    1) The community clean up and activism will cease as the candidates are no longer applying for the job.

    2) Even if Michael Joseph wins as MP for that constituency, the outlook will not change as none of the college educated candidates (of whom some are businessmen) presented any economic plan for the creation, sustenance and growth of businesses within the constituency.

    Therefore we can conclude that the seeds of “check your minister” has been planted for another generation.

  11. Congrats Michael. Now that the primary is over, maybe u can now busy urself with getting the garbage picked up on a regular basis. They say that cleanliness is next to Godliness.
