Indian born fugitive Mehul Choski is now a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital in the capital city Roseau.
He is now warded at the Imray Wade of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital under heavy police security in a private room.
Nature Isle News (NIN) visited the Imray wade and attempted to get access to Choski but was told by the police, “we have been instructed that only his lawyers should have access to him, anything you have to speak to his lawyers.”
NIN did call his team of lawyers and was told that a gag order by the court prohibits them from speaking.
“We are in the process of trying to get this gag order out since this is a high profile matter and the international community is following this case so we can’t have it closed,” one member of the team stated.
It is not yet clear why Choski was admitted to the hospital but NIN can confirm that he has tested negative for COVID-19.
On May 29, he taken to the government quarantined facility in Portsmouth, north of Dominica.
In discussions with his lawyers, Choski claims that he was abducted at Jolly’s Bay in Antigua by Indian and Antiguan men and taken on a boat to an undisclosed location.
He said that he was beaten in the process. In the photo taken with his cells, he shows his hands that were bruised and swollen.
As per the court order, he was medically examined at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital and also had to undergo the COVID-19 test.
The results are negative and he has been placed in quarantine. His matter will be back in court on Wednesday, June 3, 2021.
The court has also ordered that will remain in Dominica until the court says otherwise. (Nature Isle News)
