Dr. Racquel D’Ornellas MD, a frontline doctor at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn New York, is the first Antiguan and Barbudan to receive a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine amid the start of the U.S.’s immunization roll out.

This week, a 52-year-old Jamaican-born nurse was the first person to get the COVID-19 vaccine in New York as the biggest vaccination campaign in US history kicked off Monday with health workers rolling up their sleeves for shots to protect them from the deadly coronavirus.

  1. Gimme an aspirin…

My heartfelt thanks to those doctors who at some point in time return home and make a contribution

    • Unfortunately, according to the government, those returning doctors and other nationals are the ones responsible for spreading covid and will have to be quarantined for 2 weeks and wear a wrist shackle. Time for a law suit against this government I think

        • Well look at here ,what a day it is to see “Just Saying” calling someone stupid and stupidity . Most of your comments are actually in that same category. It’s mostly insults if you disagree with a comment you add no intelligent contribution on the topics
Sometimes I read the comments to get grater insite from the people and suggestions . Now let me go back to my regular life not like you that just trolls on here allday .

    • She is a Doctor doing her 3 year internship in Brooklyn you Moron. The good Doctor has all intentions of returning home to practice when she completes her studies. Do better research before making kookahole statements.

    • Making a contribution here is so hard sometimes. We have so many doctors now and work conditions suck.
      Kudos to all frontline workers.

  2. When I read the headline, I thought that we had the vaccine here in Antigua, I really thought that, however, I came back to reality very quickly, but when WILL we get the vaccine here ?

  3. That vaccine probably vitamin c or pipe wata. Take the vaccine but you should still wear mask and isolate or you will be fined. Money in the bank !

  4. I read a Chicago Hospital has temporarily suspended administering the vaccine because 4 of it’s workers had severe reaction including elevated heart rate .this is not first time I’ve read about this problem. This a personal and individual decision each of you must make but for me there’s no way I’ll inject that into my body Sunday blessings to everyone.
