The staff of the Medical Benefits Scheme added a new giving component to their Alma Mater Day 2026 observance on Friday 27th March 2026, coming together to donate school supplies and toiletries to Golden Grove Primary School.
Each year, MBS staff mark Alma Mater Day by wearing the uniforms of the schools they once attended and capturing commemorative photographs in recognition of the occasion. This year, they gave the observance added meaning by pooling contributions for a donation initiative, with Golden Grove Primary School selected as the first school to benefit.
The staff-led effort reflects a shared commitment to giving back in a practical way and recognises that schools continue to serve students from different backgrounds and with varying needs. It also follows MBS’ recent outreach at another public school in observance of World Water Day, continuing the organisation’s engagement with different schools through education, encouragement, and practical support.
The addition of the donation component brought a deeper sense of purpose to this year’s observance, reflecting pride in the past while investing in the next generation.

Here is a suggestion.
Why not print tee shirts for the occasion? Print them in the colours of your alma mater.
The thing is you all don’t look good in the school uniforms, and it does nothing for the actual schoolgirls/guys, especially those who are having a hard time dealing with their body weight, to see other women and men looking ‘not very nice’ in THEIR uniforms. Makes them actually see themselves.
So girls, guys, stay away from the uniform. Print tee shirts instead. That would not stop you from donating what you want to donate, or having your reminiscing moments.
Another suggestion is you should be using your influence to get the school officials to change the uniforms. Most of them are no longer practical (eg, AGHS, CKHS). A simple skirt or slacks for the girls with a plain top would do.
And lose those ties. Yeah, I know. You just can’t pull yourselves away from ‘how it used to be’. But times and things have changed. Get over it. It is not about you.
