Masked Gunmen Rob, Shoot Man in Cassada Gardens Attack

A man is hospitalized with a gunshot wound following an attack by three masked gunmen in Cassada Gardens on Friday morning.

The incident occurred when the victims, traveling in a pick-up truck around 6 am, were blocked by the robbers’ vehicle. The assailants then robbed the men at gunpoint, taking over XCD$30,000 before shooting one victim and fleeing the scene.

The injured man is in serious condition, while the other victim escaped unharmed.

The victims were en route for a business transaction.

Police urge anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crimestoppers at 800-8477.

    A robbery of this nature, at this time of the day, not only says a lot about where these #street_thugs are taking their criminal activities but…

    (i)…..they’re well organized, as an enterprise!
    (ii)….will stop at nothing, to get what they want.

    I’m somewhat baffled, the victims were in a truck, that had its path blocked by the perpetrator(s) vehicle. Then why didn’t the victim/driver use his truck as a weapon? Ram the other vehicle! Use their(victim) vehicle, as a #DEADLY WEAPON!
    You want to try your best, to have the perps leave some form of evidence behind!

  7. Why y’all like to assume. It can look like an inside job but doesn’t mean it is actually done from somebody inside. Stop judge and stop assume. That’s our problem here in Antigua. Unless it happened to you,you would be stop talking like this.

  8. Of concern is that these criminals are no longer shooting in the air to scare people, they are now also shooting at the victims of their crime.

The Cabinet Notes stated that crime is on the decline because most young men are engaged in construction, and that is questionable even if they are referencing petty crimes but it is evident that violent crimes are on the upsurge for sure. The authorities need to stop suppressing the figures and tell us the truth.

    • @SHERFIELD BOWEN SHOT TESSA BARTHLEY. It would appear that you are a relative or something of the late lady, and for that I say sorry. However, I cannot understand why you keep trying to drag UPP into this! This is even moreso because the gentleman in question was a A(B)LP parliamentarian at the time of this incident and received the firearm on account of being an ABLP official. I do not seem to recall any postings from you about this until he joined the UPP AFTER BEING DECLARED NOT GUILTY!!! So as I said if you feel the need to keep the issue alive, so be it but perhaps you should also take issue with ABLP since he was right in their camp at the time. By the way, he was never removed from the A(B)LP party but left on his own.
      Try to spend more time addressing the many ills that are confronting us.
