Mary John Found Guilty of Spreading False Information Online

Mary John, a community activist, was convicted today in court for spreading false information electronically. She will be sentenced on April 30.

The trial, presided over by Justice Ann-Marie Smith, focused on charges stemming from John’s online posting of a photo alleging the involvement of a woman in the murder of Piccadilly resident Jane Finch.

  4. I stand in support of Mary. It was an inadvertent error which when realized was removed and apology given. The best of us err sometimes. Knowing Mary as I do, I can safely say that she meant no ill will and no harm.
    Mary is one of those persons who have spent her life and resources fighting for the less fortunate among us. The amount of people that she has helped is remarkable. She is a beckon of light and a ray of hope for so many .

    • Mary John is a . She messes with people online and then quickly removes the offending posts to cover her tracks. She can help the needy without being as malicious as she is. I for one am happy she finally got her just due. Maybe she will stop cussing people on social media and then suing them when they respond in kind.

    • Based on her history, she believes that she’s entitled in many ways. She does almost everything for recognition. She has been warned and forewarned regarding her presumption in many instances.
      She was a good friend of mine. Because I had to call her out a few times for her behavior, she hates me like poison. And that’s okay because I have only been kind to her through the years.
      I’m sorry that it had to come to this but karma is real.
      I still only wish her well.

  7. Finally Mary gets what she deserves, I hope she gets some jail! She needs to stop messing with people and look at her own family. If you want to do good do it quietly. I hope this will teach her a lesson.

  10. This law is a constitutional absurdity, and I hope the UPP repeals it after the next election. Claims of slander/libel should be a civil matter.
