It is with a deep sense of regret that I, Mary John, advise the public in general and my well-wishers, in particular, of my personal and professional conflict regarding the award bestowed on me by the Governor-General in December 2024.
Following the ceremony, I realized, with considerable dismay, that the credit for my years of humanitarian work with the vulnerable and marginalized members of our society had been accorded – in the press – to another honoree who has made no known contributions in this field.
I shared my concerns with H.E. Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams, and I have waited four weeks for a public correction of the citation associated with that person, John Swift, Jr.
Since that has not materialized, I feel duty-bound to advise the public, since I strongly feel that my efforts and the work of my supporters have been undervalued and, to some extent, discredited.
This is not an attempt at self-promotion, I assure you, all. Rather, it if simply am not comfortable. Despite this, I think the governor – General and his wife for having considered me and my contributions and found them worthy of the honor bestowed.
I also take this opportunity to thank my well-wishers and the supporters of the Mary John Foundation, with the hope that you will continue to partner with me in the important work we have been doing to help those who are the most in need of ongoing assistance.

Girl, BYE! This I’d why people don’t like you. If you were doing things from the heart, an error like this wouldn’t have you up in arms. I hope the GG and Lady Williams see this and revoke their award!
that is exactly what Their Excellencies need to do – TEK UM BACK!!!!! she jus nuff anna look sympathy!!!
Stale, useless news! Further the blood of those⁴³³ asylum seeking Weat Africans(from Nigeria and the Cameroons respectively) has been engraved indelibly on her forehead, like the mark of the beast. It was this ex(?) Drug usin̈g Portugese descendant that whipped ùp the shameful protest against a few black people, West Africans spotted walking harmlessly in her middle-class neighboŕhood . Less than a year later she is being honored by the useless GG. Portugal, for those who care to know, was the first country to traffic in enslaved Afrcans to Europe and elsewhere., Maybe I ought not to get upset with that moron who describes Antigua às a “joke town”.

Wonder how Joey John feels about her and the family name?
Always looking for clout and putting up neargah bizniz on Facebook!!
Doesn’t the award she was given have her name on it? I’m trying to understand her issue. I thought she was doing things from the heart. She should be happy despite all of the BS and disruptive behavior that she has engaged in she was still handed an award.
I’m glad Mary John addressed this issue publicly. It’s important to recognize the right individuals for their hard work and contributions. Clarifying these mistakes helps ensure that the true efforts of those who make a difference in the community are properly acknowledged.
Mary John’s response to the misattribution is a strong example of honesty and integrity. Correcting such errors not only maintains trust but also emphasizes the value of transparency in recognizing deserving individuals for their humanitarian work.
