The police have arrested one man suspected of setting fire to about 10 vehicles yesterday morning.

The massive blaze was set at a location in the Jennings new extension area about 9:45 a.m. Most of the vehicles were not in use at the time of the fire.

A source tells Antigua Newsroom that a man set the cars on fire following a dispute with the owner who only six months earlier moved the vehicles to their present location.

The fire brigade responded to the incident and the Jennings Police immediately commenced an investigation into the suspected arson.

More details to come.

  1. Again, this kinda conflict could be avoided with proper zoning and management of the law by relevant authorities.

    • Unfortunately, this will fall on deaf ears.

It baffles me why we’re still having discussions about proper zoning after all these years

    • Actually “this kinda conflict could be avoided” with proper CHILD-REARING and UPBRINGING. According to the article, the reason for the fire is a DISPUTE between 2 human beings. “Proper zoning management” cannot be employed in lieu of CONFLICT RESOLUTION and ANGER MANAGEMENT skills.

  2. It seems that the pro-Jamaican and pro-D.R. immigration policy of Antigua is having negative consequences for all, too many criminals being let into Antigua under CARICOM rules nowadays. Hopefully we stop immigration from Jamaica and D.R. right away, before it is too late! Our precious Antigua is on fire.

    • I’m Antiguan and what u are saying about Caricom nationals are pure foolishness, proper screening is needed. I don’t see many Antiguan nationals wanting to do security or cleaning the streets work. Put better measure in place at the ports of entry to Vetter screen these individual.

    • Y dont u shut the F up …. where in the article said it was jamaicans or spanish ….. u affi need a life or spanish or jamaican tek weh yuh man/woman

      Dunce nf

      • Your use of profanity only makes you look silly. You are NOT a JAH SON, that’s for sure. Watch your language and people might pay attention to whatever you are trying to say. You turning people off with this.

  3. Too many non nationals have come here to escape justice in their own country and continue criminal activities down here , there are good ones who come here for a better life and cause no trouble to the people or the nation whatsoever, but are far and in between

  4. What does the opposite sex do that you wish that you could do, but it’s not anatomically feasible or it’s socially frowned upon?

  5. What are we dealing with here…some kind of nut case. The boys at 1735 will show him what fire is all about.
