Police are investigating yet another killing.

Dead is Ricardo Christmas originally from Dominica.

According to reports, the 32-year-old man was shot twice in the head on Tanner Street Wednesday night.

He died on the spot.

A motive for the attack is not yet known.

This is the eighth murder since the start of the year and comes on the heels of a double killing in Gray’s Farm earlier this week.

EARLIER REPORT: A man was shot dead on Tanner Street on Wednesday night as he played a game of dominoes.

A lone assailant reportedly walked up to the domino table and opened fire shortly before 10 pm.

The man was shot three times and died on the spot while another domino player was also shot, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The gunman then fled on foot in the area. Police are asking anyone with information on the killing to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914.

This takes the country’s homicide count for the year to eight and comes hot on the heels of Monday’s double murder in Grays Farm.

  1. My heart bleeds for our young men. What are they allowing to permeate their minds? This is a lose-lose situation. Condolences to those left to grieve and wallow in pain and heartbreak 💔🙏🏿😢😞😔

  2. You spend to much time on your knees, its time to stand and demand more of the persons that said they have the solutions.

  3. Condolences with deepest sincerity to the family of the bereaved.

The heart of man waxes colder and more cruel as we near the end of mankind’s tragic episode of this earth. We see it happening all around us.

The intent of the heart is consistently evil, with no fear of the Creator.
I know the people who commit these crimes do read the papers also. I ask them to search their hearts. Consider the wickedness that was done and think about the judgement they will have to face. It may not be in courts of man, but CERTAINLY we all will face the JUDGEMENT COURT OF THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE.

In all of this madness, the Creator still reaches out to us to change our wicked ways: FORSAKE WRONGTEOUSNESS and seek after HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

May Heaven help us all to reject the evil and seek good.
Two ways in life: GOOD and EVIL. The choice is for us to make.
God will NEVER force us to decide one way or the other. We have that ” blessing of choice” given to us. For many, it has become a “dangerous” blessing.

Unfortunately, the majority have chosen the EVIL way and thus we see the results of this all around us. There are consequences for the choices that we make. Justice may not be instant, but rest assured JUSTICE IS SURE.

WORLD “CRYSIS”: WE CAN RUN FROM THE JUSTICE OF MAN, BUT THE JUSTICE OF THE CREATOR IS SURE.

  4. What the f*** is this “get on our knees”?
We need to deport ,,,,,deport once you run a foul of our laws with no chance of returning.
Get guns sniffing dogs not weed sniffing dogs.
This thoughts and prayers “thing ” (cuz now it seems like it’s a thing ) and “get on our knees” thing.
    Is questionable.

  5. It is very hard to get a gun license in Antigua and Barbuda. From where and how are all those damn illegal guns getting into Antigua? Are they coming in by boats, aircrafts, walking, swimming. Three murders by guns in 3 days. That is not the Antigua I knew. What has change to make it so brutal? Are there problems with drugs usage in Antigua? Are there Gangs issues in Antigua? The Police top brasses need to come and talk with the people.A Press Conference would be a good place to start. Commissioner Rodney, get up from behind your desk.Face this escalating crimes issues,NOW.

  6. As long as Antigua continues the CARICOM immigration policy, these incidents will happen in our beloved island. It’s time to limit immigration to only those with masters and doctorate degrees. We need educated people in Antigua, not criminal immigrants coming here under CARICOM rules.

    • Antiguans are no less violent than any other Caribbean person.

I’ve never seen such bigoted xenophobes as Antiguans.

For all you know the shooter was born in Antigua

Why don’t you do something about the abject poverty in your country. That will do more to solve crime than being a bigot.
