Man Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter After 2017 Killing

The man who killed 25-year-old Gavin Edwards last year pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the High Court today.

Anthony Joseph of Point Area was 21-years-old when he fatally stabbed his fellow villager during a fight.

The court heard, Edwards struck Joseph in his head with a bottle before retraining him in chokehold.

After managing to escape the grip, Joseph retaliated by stabbing Edwards once in his abdomen with a pair of scissors.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment, but Edwards later succumbed to his injury.

Joseph was allowed to plead manslaughter on the basis that he overreacted in self-defense.

  1. When they all go to jail whose gonna become the future prime ministers, teachers, doctors, husbands, fathers? Are there no parents anymore or has their attention and focus been kidnapped by social media and partying?

    • It’s easy to stay behind a screen and comment about people when you have no idea how the live. I bet if he was from a wealthy family he would have gotten off on self defense. Keep your head up Tony.

      • This young man is someone I know and he had no intention of killing anyone. He has generally been the prey to other predators, look closely to the picture and you will see the stitches in his head where he has hit. Life has given him a lot of lemons, including the early passing of his mother due to cancer, I pray this hard situation will cause him to look to God. Smh and NP and I glad that there are others that can take the time to not just look at the situation but reason withing themselves and wonder what like could have been had they had other opportunities and wonder what will life become since the current society does not provide the necessary building blocks to assist someone in his situation.

  2. He has not been sentenced as yet. Maybe he will get the self defense or time served. Let’s look on n see the out come.

  3. I meam, was it swlf defense or manslaughter. Who was this guy lawyer? Somebody buss your head with a bottle then choking you out? Maybe the bottle over the head was self defense?
