Man on Trial for Murder Taken to Crime Scene

Miguel Olivero
Murder Accused Facundo Guerrero was today taken to the area where prosecutors say he killed 37-year-old Miguel Olivero in 2013.
The High Court visited the scene of the incident, which began with a fight at La Loba Bar on Dickenson Bay Street and ended with Olivero being hacked to death on nearby Popeshead Street.
The site visit served as an exercise for jurors to get a first-hand look at the crime scene to better understand the circumstances of the case.
The on-site court session also provided the opportunity for witnesses to point out areas they referred to when they gave evidence on the stand.
Prosecutors allege Guerrero and Angel Nieves attacked and killed Olivero with machetes.
Nieves is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to murder a few days after the start of the trial.
Guerrero, who is maintaining his innocence, told police Nieves was the only person who chopped the deceased.
