Kevin Lindsay, resident of Fort Road, has been fined $2,000 for failing to adhere to the 11 pm to 5 am curfew regulation.

Yesterday, Lindsay appeared before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh where he admitted to violating the curfew on July 18.

He further stated that he was coming from a party on the day in question.

Officers on mobile patrol in the vicinity of AS Bryden’s and Sons ,that night, observed a black car with three occupants driving on a by-road in Fort Road.

The officers signalled for the vehicle to stop but it sped off and collided with a pink house causing damage to the fence and front portion of the house.

The occupants exited the vehicle and while the defendant was arrested, the other two occupants escaped.

The defendant, when asked his reason for being on the road, told the police: “a one ride me beg for go home.”

The 36 year old was ordered by the court to pay the sum by August 28 or spend two months in prison.
