A High Court judge has found Damien Joseph guilty of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with a 2022 incident in St. John’s.
Justice Ann Marie Smith delivered the verdict after a judge-only trial where Damien Joseph represented himself. The case stems from May 30, 2022, when he allegedly fired at fellow Cassada Gardens resident Kelvin Constant as he drove along High Street.
Court evidence showed Joseph discharged a firearm at Constant’s windshield, shattering a speaker tweeter before the bullet lodged in the truck’s cabin. Though uninjured, Constant immediately reported the incident.
Joseph remains in His Majesty’s Prison awaiting sentencing.

Why don’t young people like learn?
I will never understand why the justice system is so slow… Why did it have to take all those years to convicted the man? Why is there always a delay in justice? Come on, we deserve better… Smh !
At least now the victims family can have some sort of peace.
Why is he still awaiting sentencing?
Did the police investigate how long he and this murderer has been involved sexually. I am hearing it is from since she was a minor. If this is the case there is not statute of limitations for rape. During the case this could come out as one of the reasons that turned her into a beast/murderer, could have easily turned into a child serial killer. Then there is the car she has been driving. Didn’t he have knowledge that she was driving his car without a license. The same car that was used to do the abduction and murder. By the way since the police is so tight lipped, was she taken to this house???? Where was he when she was taken to his house, if she was ????? Was Chantel abused in his house???? Police we the public has interest in this case as much as you and we consider her our child. We want answers??? We have questions ????? . Could it have been prevented between the time the murder took place and the missing report. When did you know of the car number and the suspect?? If you had given out the number and the name of the suspect could this have been prevented ???

this guy showing interest of in other minors sexually????? was he investigating thoroughly about this It is strange that he did not know anything about the criminal and murder he was sharing bed with. Did he have knowledge of her hate and criminal intent????? We would really like to see the interrogation sheet at some point.
We know that the investigation like to have people that are close as possible to the perpetrator as crown witness and sometimes use one of the criminal of lesser involvement to ensure that they have a strong case. In this instant we the public want anyone who was involved, even if it’s in a tiny bit to be charged and brought to justice as well. We are all hurting and want Justice.
The other thing is that he should not be welcomed to stay in Antigua one minute after this case is completed if he is not charged and imprisoned.
This should have been an attempted murder charge. Any intent to do “bodily harm” with any weapon, even a sling shot should be taken as, ATTEMPTED MURDER. Stop the pussyfooting with these street thugs.
