Man charged with attempted murder after Barbuda shooting

The building contractor, who allegedly shot one of his workers in Barbuda on Sunday, is now charged with attempted murder.

On Tuesday, police charged 54yr-old Desbones James St. John of Upper Gambles with the attempted murder on the life of James Elliott of #3 Cassada Gardens. He was further charged with unlawful possession of one Jennings 9mm pistol and unlawful possession of 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition without holding a firearm user’s license, with respect to such firearm and ammunition.

He is expected before the Court on Wednesday.

Meantime, the police are calling upon residents in Barbuda, who may have witnessed this incident, or have information that can assist them further in their investigations to contact the Serious Crimes Unit within the Criminal Investigations Department at 464-3943 or 720-9162.

  3. This guy obviously thought he was the baddest thing around. Walking around with an illegal gun, pulling it and firing at someone face over an argument about a cell phone. He has thrown away his life. And all these DUNCE People boast fully walking around with unregistered guns thinking they not gonna be charged. Second one for the year alone after the amnesty.
