
A man accused of cultivating nearly 400 cannabis plants valued at more than $230,000 has been granted bail under strict conditions.
Shawn Richards, of Old Road, was granted bail of $250,000 when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Tuesday. The bail includes a $10,000 cash payment and two local sureties.
As part of his release, Mr Richards must report daily to Johnson’s Point Police Station between 06:00 and 18:00. He is also required to remain at his Old Road residence, is subject to a travel ban, and must not contact or interfere with witnesses.
He faces three charges: cultivating, possessing, and being concerned in the supply of 377 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of $232,000.
The charges relate to an incident in the Crab Hill area on 21 March.
The case has been adjourned to 27 May for committal.
