Loop News – A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with a robbery committed against the eight-year-old son of St Kitts and Nevis Ambassador Leon Natta-Nelson.

Police charged T’Jay Hodge, a resident of Molineaux, with robbery on October 6 at the Tabernacle Police Station.

It is alleged that Hodge robbed the child while he was attending an Independence Day event on September 19.

Natta-Nelson saw Hodge at an event on 29th September and confronted him.

The two men traded words and video of the incident went viral on social media.

Natta-Nelson apologised for his actions.

In a statement, he said: “As a father, my protective instincts kicked in, and I reacted in a manner I now deeply regret.

While my intentions were rooted in safeguarding my child, I recognise that I should have approached the situation differently.

I love my son dearly and my natural protective parental instincts took over.”

“I wish to sincerely apologise for my emotional reaction and any harsh words that were spoken. Such a response should never have occurred.

I am committed to finding more peaceful and constructive ways to address any future concerns, even those involving my child.”

Natta-Nelson ended his statement by saying that violence has no place in society.
