A 59-year-old man has been sentenced to serve the next eighteen months in prison after confessing to the crimes of burglary and theft.

James Philip acknowledged his involvement in stealing items worth more than two thousand dollars from a snackette in Gambles back in April.

Approximately a month later, law enforcement apprehended him while he was hiding in a bathroom following a break-in at Papa Zouk Restaurant, which was located in the same vicinity.

During the trial, the court was presented with evidence from the snackette’s surveillance camera, which captured the thief’s movements during the initial offense.

Philip, who had previous records of similar crimes, informed Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh that he committed these offenses due to his hunger.

Furthermore, he pleaded guilty to the charge of causing deliberate damage to Papa Zouk’s alarm system.

  3. @SHAMEONYOU. I will 4ever ask because a letter had circulated that ALL the criminal activities (raping, breaking in murder n shooting) that are plaging our country are been committed by our Caribbean brothers n sisters namely Jamaican and that person has a lot of support,so each time when such activities are been reported I would ask where is that person from so those people can know arwe have bitter weed too……….So sorry if u r offended

    • Allow us to have bitter weed…the thing is, if our Caribbean brothers and sisters are here for a better way of life, then do just that. They should not be concerned with adding to the crime rate!
