The police are investigating a major accident on the Shell Beach road earlier this evening which left a car severely damaged.
The Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash and transported the driver of the vehicle to Mount St Johns Medical Centre.
Reportedly, the driver has not suffered any serious injuries and claims the crash was not the result of speeding.
Images surfaced on social media showing what appears to be the car collided with a utility pole and flipped.

Driver was going slowly and hit the pole which flipped the car, come on man gimme a break,speed was a factor.
He claims he was not going fast!!! I do not believe going at 30 or 40 miles per hour or even 50mph can cause that much damage.
