It is with regret that Lucky Eddi’s announces that it will close it’s doors immediately, and will cease all operations, including the restaurant, bar, music venue and tennis courts for the foreseeable future.
All businesses operating within the National Park are required to have a current business licence, issued by The National Park Authority. As this has not been forthcoming, on legal advice, we have been advised it would be imprudent to carry on operations, or renew any employment contracts, while the threat of immediate enforced closure remains a possibility. There is also the very serious question of whether our public liability insurance is valid, or could be potentially questioned, in the absence of a current business licence.
In addition, the recently introduced regulations regarding “parties” in English Harbour, and the extreme parking restrictions now in place create an uncertain business environment, apparently designed to deter Antiguans from visiting an area historically known for entertainment, especially during the sailing season.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank the people and organisations that have supported us during the past few years. The Police Drama Group, The Defence Force Band, Island Academy students and staff, Antigua & Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra, PAWS, Antigua & Barbuda Marine Association, Anjo Distribution, Naydene Gonnella, Nicholson Gin, Asher Otto, 3 Cylinder, Tian Winter, Janine, The Strays, Oyster Yachts, Elite Dance School, Michele Delco, Premier Beverages, Royal Ocean Racing Club, Uprising Boxing Gym, Liberta School Summer Camp, Khan Cordice & the Ministry for Creative Industries, DJ Purist, DJ Tanny, TJ Quix, the Karaoke singers, and the thousands of patrons that have come through our doors in the past three years. We would particularly like to thank our ten permanent staff, and twelve part-time staff. Together we created some memorable nights.
To reiterate, we applied for a NPA Business Licence in 2022. We were informed that it was approved, and to come to Nelsons Dockyard to collect the written licence. On arrival, we were informed that the letter was not ready, and every subsequent request for the past three years has been met with one excuse or another. No licence.
New regulations, constantly shifting goal posts, illegal threats of injunctions, bullying of customers, attempted imposition of EC$5,000 for an event licence, and….ridiculous parking restrictions! Welcome to English Harbour!

Good riddance. Now let an indigenous Antiguan or Barbudan take the lease. It is time that we take back English Harbour which has become South Africa.
Because you think National Parks are going to make it easier for them???? LOL, LOL, LOL
You get the government you deserve………
I bet some of the affected staff and beneficiaries of your business were jumping and shouting, “labour, labour. ” yesterday.
Maybe the public will hear from the Senator who is the chairman of the board of directors for the National Parks.
We certainly heard him, when he sounded as if he was defending the owners of Sailing Week when
His own government announced it will be having a new regatta come March 2027.
Speak up chairman of the National Parks Board of Directors. The public want to hear you on this one.
Time will tell…….
Goodbye “Lucky Eddi”. Better LUCK next time, hopefully in “the foreseeable future”.
Thank you for your efforts in ceating English Harboir Cultural Centetr. I say, standby.

PM Gaston Browme amd Cabinet will intervene on your behalf. So should the many groups that have performed or used your services. So should the unions representing your emloyees. So should every one of usvwho have attenfed your events.
Time for ABMTA and others to stand up for our community.
Hin Minister E. P. Chet Greene a Town Hall with NPA present is requested.
All I can say is that I hope a local Antiguan will get a chance now to take up the lease. All the businesses out there pass from white hands to white hands. Everytime I go out to English Harbour I wonder which country I am in. I am not surprised at comments from people like Pidduck. Only they know how to do anything and get all the help and concessions, while locals never get government support.
Which Antiguan are prohibited to lease a place in English HArbour?? Lies and drama…Nobody want to lease over there..Stop acting like Many Antiguans want to lease…Lies..Lot of spot are empty now, who want to come by and invest over there for just 6 month business operations per year? Hmmm…funny ehh?? Im surprised that Antiguans now want that place..Wow, no one eas willing to invest over 150 K USD dollars in investment in the infrastructure, but when some foreigner come and make some place looking different..Then everybody want it..Nobody asked before was a mess, nooo way…Just after renovations is when people become “interested”. There is a lot of places still available for investment over there..Why nobody take them today? Why nobody want to sign a lease for 5 years for 5000 USD each month now?? Because many of those building are leased by Antiguans. National Park have Fees also to all bussines that you must paid even if you close for 6 months…After the Marina burned down…How many ANtiguans show up with funds to invest to do a new building?? Hmm…You think to build over there is cheap? Stop drama..For years restaurant open and close over there in high rates..Because isn’t cheap the rental and the challenge to survive for just 6 month of operations is thought a lot…Remember your rent is monthly.. regardless if you open or not, you still need obligations with rent.
One big plantation with some slaves thinking they’re better than the other slaves !
