  1. Why such short sentence for weapons? What is the maximum sentence for a weapon a d ammunition? The judiciary system needs to send a stiff message to these hoodlums! Who are being menaces to our societies! Just over 2 years will boil down to 2 years.

  2. Just 36 months???? Should have been given at least 5 years for an illegal firearm… that’s a weapon that could have been used on someone, I’m sure if someone was caught with some weed would have been given more time.

  3. The PM says the justice system is failing us. Parliament needs to pass sole bills to adjust these fines

  4. That’s nothing!!!
They sentence a man 3 weeks ago to
12 MONTHS for having 3 ILLEGAL GUNS and ammunition.
So people I hear your cry but be thankful they locked this one away from little longer…

  5. From our vintage point this could be to harsh a sentence for a 22 year individual, when there are so many older-age and criminals walking the streets of Antigua, with guns and without. Did he kill or harm someone? We don’t know. That’s why the sentence? Or is this to show that justice is at work? Sometimes the innocent or less guilty pay the price of others ((real criminals and frequent gun users sometimes disguised as mental health problem issues). Just saying… without knowing the whole story. All around the world there is so much to do when it comes to *guns*. And yes, there must be a starting point right? Here, this 22 year old might be. Thanks for reading. Happy Saturday everyone🙌

  6. Who bringing in the Guns??? We dont have a gun factory in Antigua!!!! Check the middle eastern community.. some of them in the trade, allegedly!!!

  7. Some may say that 36 months (including his previous conviction) is too little or too much but the current laws of the land are what they are whether we like it or not.

From what I have heard, the guns are mostly coming from two large islands to our west and northwest and that the middle eastern community on Antigua have nothing to do with that trade.

  8. Some of the real criminals are amongst us that set laws are guilty of breaking laws but things get sweep under the carpet when they break laws

  9. The judicial system needs a major overhaul.Too many criminals are getting away with light sentencing. The police must be real frustrated, that anytime they catch criminals the judge gave them light sentencing.
