The local Syrian Community is distancing itself from a message being circulated on social media.

They say the message does not represent the view of Syrians anywhere and was likely created to create controversy.

  1. I back this latter big time full time somebody send these criminals a msg sn a punishment ,🙌🤝wish I could shake there hands for this
That boy died innocently prison just won’t do for that monster who took that young boy lives may h feel his skin burning sn tormenting for the rest of his live,he should feel like he’s in hell when there done with him I back this letter 100%

    • The only body that has the legal right to issue such threats is the police of Antigua 🇦🇬. That’s their job and none else. These threats should not be attolerated. Its a terrible thing that happened and i do not wish this on anyone regardless of race or culture.
What’s strange is that the authors of this letter either know who killed their brother, or they believe the music we listen to in Antigua is obeah music.
If it’s the latter, it speaks volume as to how Syrians not only in Syria, but those in Antigua view our people and our culture and this is very alarming.

  2. Most Syrians in Antigua and Barbuda aren’t Muslim. Syria is a country full of corruption and much more violence than Antigua. Syria has been at war for over a decade now with multiple warring factions and militaries from different countries. Allah hasn’t stopped Muslim extremists from terrorizing Syrians from within or the police and armed forces from raping and murdering civilians.

I strongly urge Sryrians to NOT put all Antiguans and Barbudans in one general class as criminals. Antiguans and Barbudans have shown much patience and kindness to the Syrian community, so much so that Syrian men openly enjoy freedoms (some of an illicit nature) in Antigua and Barbuda they would be put to death for.

Most native born and raised Antiguans and Barbudans are outraged at the murder, as they are about all murders. However, the Syrian community is completely silent when there is intra-racial violence. I guess only some lives matter.

    • Mostly agree. The letter writers are being silly. It could have been anyone of any nationality walking in at the wrong time and getting killed. But, disagree about the lives matter statement. It’s only natural to be extra concerned about the death of a member of your own community. Syrians have been robbed before and didn’t complain much. However, this was daylight armed robbery and someone got killed. Dangerous, brazen criminals like that need to be taken off the streets as soon as possible for everyone’s safety and to discourage others from believing that crime pays. Nothing to do with nationality really.

    • what I don’t like is they don’t want our race of men to date their women but they riding our Antiguan women for breakfast lunch and dinner. I know a story of an Antiguan man who has a child with one of their daughters and they didn’t want to accept it.

  3. Empty threat. The perpetrator is in police custody, so their vengeful punishment will have to float through the prison walls

  4. C’mon ANR, the message is for the criminals not for all antiguans HOWEVER, I suppose it is meant for the government ministers also, cause they are the ones who who might APTLY fit the description.

    One word bi-election

    May heaven help us ALL

  5. My thought exactly. Most of the Syrians here are Christian. If these people are so good, why don’t they clean up the situation in Syria that causes people to migrate here? Why not propose something constructive other than the wrath of Allah, which Allah doesn’t seem to be able to do for himself?

  6. What does Obeah have to do with all the crimes going on in Antigua. The Syrians pass them place insulting the people of Antigua, our religion is Christianity not Obeah.you can deal with your friends killer in what ever way you like but do not insult the people of Antigua.

    • there are some dancehall songs promoting witchcraft and obeah that’s why and there being played frequently and glorified

  7. Wtf is this? So only when Syrians get rob and clapweh you guys wanna make a big stink of it? What about all dem black ppl who got robbed, injured and also killed over the years? Aren’t we important as the Syrians are?
    Bullshit man wtf

  8. Who the hel bring all these guys to Antigua 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 people need to start think more and talk !!!!!!! I love the country so much may god continue to bless Antigua and Barbuda ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

  9. Allah is not a “deity they worship.” Allah is simply the Arabic word for God; the same word is used to refer to God by Arabic-speaking Christians and Muslims alike. Also, the Facebook post referenced does not condemn all Antiguans. It specifically references the “criminals” in Antigua.

This is a very unprofessional and poorly researched article to post. I suggest you double check your facts and don’t post inflammatory social media posts to further a personal agenda.. at least if you’d like the Antigua News Room to be taken seriously as a reputable source of information.

  10. I sincerely hope that the Syrian community does not endorse that letter. The “obeah and science music remark” is RACIST IGNORANCE that diminishes the gravity of the tragedy. Antigua & Barbuda is not at war with anyone. It is a country that is sympathy to refugees.

  11. I saw this coming. I wish Antiguans were some so l heads when these things happen. Taking another life innocently. Robbing someone of their hard earnings. Them daily bread come on. You not only cold… But you shall be dealt with and to all the other perpetrators out there you will meet the wrong person and you will be killed.

  12. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the gun used was imported by one of them. Lets keep it real. And if for some reason Syrians were to retaliate then we could just stop supporting their businesses. What would happen to them then ?

    • When was the last time that you saw a Syrian man assaulting anyone here in Antigua? Never.
You can try to stop supporting their business, but that will never stop their business. Why? Simply because none of the people here can do what they do.

One thing I can tell you, and it’s that if this doesn’t stop someone is going to get tired and do something.

  13. The fact that a single social media post by an anonymous person who does not seem to live in Antigua is considered newsworthy is absolutely pathetic.
On some level I suspect that courting controversy was the only goal in publishing this article.
One young man is dead and another is in custody, and ANR is treating the situation with flippant disrespect. For shame.

  14. The Serians, the Lebanese, the Chinese, the poor white trash(Canadians & Americans ), the European expats are the major ones bringing in the guns, ammo, fake good into Antigua. Law enforcement simply turn a blind eye to their criminal activities, since, some of law enforcement and the politicians are in bed with them.
These people have being using the niggers to build their empires in Antigua.
If their Obeah is so potent, why the fuck is Seria looking like a bombed out shit hole and the Jews treat the Lebanese like dogs.
Only in places like Antigua the Serians and Lebanese seems to get along but that is just to use the niggers to their own benefit.

  15. All #RELIGIONS work OBEAH and deal in #High_Science. They(Religion – Judaism, Christianity, Muslim, Hinduism, Buddhism LGBQTPA) simply call #HIGH_SCIENCE by different names, but they #ALL practice the Craft at #Life’s Cross✝️✝️✝️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🙅🏿‍♂️❌❌❌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✝️☦️☦️🏴‍☠️ROADS.

  16. Was it not said they do not identify with the letter or warning , whatever it is called?

We have an issue with crime, if we don’t handle our business with urgency and seriousness this will be our next pandemic.

  17. Take them out, mess with there people you will get what you deserve sic k and tired of them now
