Local Hero, Juante Kirby, Comes to the Rescue After School Bus Incident, Treating Frightened Students to Smoothies

On the 20th of November, 2023, a notable incident occurred, prompting the intervention of a 4 feet, 4 inches tall hero named Juante Kirby.

Identifying himself, Juante Kirby observed what some school students, who were passengers on a National School Bus Services vehicle, described as a frightening scenario. The bus began emitting smoke, leading to a collision with another vehicle. Swiftly and carefully, the driver and conductor evacuated the students from the bus, with many of them expressing fear and shock through tears.

Witnessing the unsettling situation, Juante Kirby promptly halted and joined efforts with the conductor to console the distressed children. Fortunately, he noted the presence of a smoothie vendor conveniently located near the incident site.

After a brief negotiation, Mr. Kirby and the smoothie vendor collaborated to ensure that each brave child received a smoothie as a token of appreciation. When approached by an onlooker requesting a photograph, Mr. Kirby humorously attempted to avoid it by citing a “bad hair day.”

The onlooker remarked on the tendency to criticize individuals for wrongdoing while neglecting to celebrate the positive actions of the youth in the community and the country at large.

After ensuring that every student involved in the incident received a smoothie and arrangements were made for an alternative school bus, Mr. Kirby settled the payment with the smoothie vendor and departed. As he left, the children expressed their gratitude with smiles and words of thanks.

This incident serves as a reminder that heroes, not necessarily adorned in capes or towering at 6 feet, can make a significant impact through simple acts of kindness.

The provided photos capture moments of this heartening event as documented by an onlooker.

  1. Yes! Most times we highlight the bad news and fail to publicise our citizens doing courageous, brave and empathetic acts. Respect to our strong and empathetic citizens. Those are my heroes.

  2. A truly commendable act by a true hero. I salute this young man and hope his actions gets the appreciation it deserves at the highest level. Somehow I believe he will hold in very high regard the smiles he saw on those formerly frughtei little faces.

  3. Good job Mr. Kirby. It is good to care about what others are going through. We make our society a better place when we each take others’ needs into consideration. Those children were shown a good example of positive caring behaviour by you and will pass it on to others.
