Have you not heard the saying a good name is better than silver or gold. PM you are probably correct it has nothing to do with Antigua directly, however there is a lot beneath the surface. Lots of implications, lots of lash backs and of course spoiling Antigua’s good name. The worst thing I ever heard in my entire life done against Antigua Barbuda is the argument that one side got 10 Antigua & Barbuda Passports and the other suing for three of the ten. The Antigua and Barbuda government is seeking the assistance of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in dealing with the situation regarding migrants from West Africa.
Government spokesman, Lionel “Max” Hurst said representatives of the two international organizations will be here to probe the situation and make recommendations. Last month, the government said that 637 of the more than 900 people who touched down between November and January remained in Antigua. Many of them are Cameroonians fleeing a bloody conflict back home.
But it is unclear how many of them are seeking asylum having arrived here on Antigua Airways or other chartered airlines.
“The Cabinet…instructed Ambassador Daven Joseph to construct some guidelines by which both UNHCR and IOM could operate in Antigua and Barbuda,” he said, adding that it is also hoped that their report “reflects the reality here for the West African migrants.

This story has changed so many times, we have almost lost count. I wonder if Fred Corbin will be one of the investigators. He has a pulse on the crooked activities of the ABLP & Gaston administration. From wealthy investors welcomed with pomp and circumstance to now refugees. Gaston, do you realize the situations in their African countries has not changed since they came to ABA? It existed before so, they should have been treated and processed as refugees.

This is what I heard young ABLP supporter summarized this entire fiasco. It just amazes me that the Prime Minister could give someone 10 Antigua and Barbuda Passports. Then again,his Administration gave about 130 Antigua and Barbuda Passports to a Chinese man from Fancy Bridge. That man was picked up in Hong Kong by the Chinese Government and ushered over to China. He is now serving time in a Chinese Prison. What has become of those Passports? To whom were they sold? Do you folks really see some of the difficulties that could derived from selling of our Passports to all and sundry.
Even Stevie Wonder saw this was going to end up like this. You should have been gun from the beginning. Everybody was apprehensive about this but no you wouldn’t listen, and now Antigua’s now is tarnished once again. SMH
