Antigua PM eyes seamless shift as LIAT 1974 hands over to LIAT 2020

CABINET NOTES-

The issue of LIAT (2020) Ltd was of great importance to the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda at its sitting.

All members were made fully aware of the agreement to purchase LIAT (1974) Ltd. aircraft.

The first aircraft will be purchased for USD4.1 million dollars; that will allow for the LIAT (2020) Ltd to meet a condition necessary for it to receive an Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

An additional USD12.1 million dollars will be used to purchase the other three (3) aircraft. In less than 60 days LIAT (2020) Ltd. is expected to take to the air.

Air Peace is expected to add additional aircraft which will expand the LIAT fleet, allowing LIAT to fly long distances since the Air Peace aircraft will have jet engines.

  1. Money to buy used and abused planes, but no money to pay the staff… y’all are no better than the colonizers that once ran the land… and if you ask me they did a better job… Pay the staff and then you will have the blessings needed to run the show, until then, welcome failure!

  2. These public relations articles on LIAT (2020) and the Air Peace deal; changes not only with the number of aircrafts, but when Air Peace will be on board.

One thing is consistent, is that Air Peace gets 70% ownership of the LIAT (2020) It’s does not clear who owns the remaining 30% goes to who its unclear.

Not a word from the Shareholder Governments, and hardly anything from the media except ANR.

It’s becoming clearer and clearer, how Gastone Browne and his enablers get away with what they are doing. No one is minding the cash register.

  3. WE NEED AN AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE OUR ISLANDS. TRAVEL HAS BECOME DIFFICULT.
I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SERVICING OF AND SERVICING OF THE AIRCRAFTS. HOW SAFE WILL THEY BE.
