LIAT 2020’s CEO, Hafsah Abdulsalam, is optimistic about launching scheduled passenger flights by August 2024.

She revealed plans for the airline to start with around 200 employees and offer same-day connections across the region.

Abdulsalam praised the Antigua and Barbuda government and LIAT colleagues for their progress.

The Antigua and Barbuda government has partnered with Nigeria’s Air Peace to support LIAT 2020.

Over the weekend, Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced the airline had obtained its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

However, Browne expressed frustration with the Caribbean Development Bank’s slow vetting of the aircraft sales agreement, delaying the airline’s operations.

  1. Gaston is developing his own calendar.
August is now the new May.
    June is now December.
    December is August.
May Day! May Day! Carnival is now celebrated in January.
The clown & clown show continues.

  2. Let’s hope the delay is indefinite like the payment of all those former workers and the reimbursement of all those paying customers get left holding a useless ticket karma is a b**** I and a half.

  3. No one can convince me that their is not a sinister plot behind all of these delays. They are hell bend and trying to block our government from bringing LIAT back in the air. Starting an airline cannot be such a lengthy process. But Gaston is determined and he will prevail. And in the end they will all have dust in their face. Whom God bless, No men curse. be patience.

  4. Gaston Browne, what a joker he is.

More embarrassment for Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬

His promises of launches and actions are now reaching LEGENDARY status. What our wayward and out of touch Prime Minister needs to do is conduct his Premiership in a more understated manner, so that he doesn’t look or sound like a fool when it backfires or the inevitable delays.

WHERE’S HIS ADVISORS OR BACKROOM TEAM?

  5. What a joke airline. Always a delay or excuse. Can’t get anything right and always blaming someone else. They not getting my hard earned money especially when they can’t pay their former employees and ticket holders. Traveling public would be best advised to avoid them because one never knows when they will go bankrupt again and leave passengers stranded with worthless tickets !
