Lewis is hoping that Shipping Issues will not delay Rural West Children’s Christmas Party and welcomes donor assistance

The annual Children’s Christmas Party hosted by the United Progressive Party’s Candidate for Rural West, Senator Richard Lewis, may have to be pushed back to the New Year because of shipping issues.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, supply-chain issues have impacted the delivery of many goods, and Lewis is concerned that this could cause some disappointment for the constituency’s children.  However, he is still holding out hope that everything will arrive in time for Christmas.

The annual party is an event that Lewis took over from the former Prime Minister and parliamentary representative, Baldwin Spencer.

The UPP Candidate says that the party – along with the other work he has been doing in the constituency – is not an election gimmick for him, and it will continue.

He notes that some politicians exploit the people by doing their utmost leading up to an election, and then, after they win or lose, they stop.  But not him, he says.

Lewis is making an appeal to persons or businesses who wish to lend support to his outreach to contact him at 721-9898, or directly message him on his Facebook page (@Richard S Lewis). Some people are already assisting him, he says.

Meanwhile, Senator Lewis says that those constituents who do not receive food packages this year should not feel disappointed, since the distribution is being done on a needs basis.

He explains that his resources are not enough to provide packages to everyone, since he is funding them personally with some assistance.
