LETTER: Airport Authority should immediately remove nonsensical COVID restrictions

Testing facility at airport

Dear Editor,

The COVID protocols in Antigua were removed back in August, yet at the airport persons greeting arriving passengers are still being forced to wait outside the terminal building.  Why?

Nobody seems to know.

In the same building persons stand in line to check in, stand in line to clear passport control, stand in line to clear security, and are free to go wherever they wish around the luggage conveyor belts or in the departure hall.

Why is the arrivals hall singled out for special treatment?

It would be appreciated if the Airport Authority could immediately remove this nonsensical restriction – please remember that the sole purpose of the airport is to serve the public.

Thank you,

Concerned Citizen

  1. Lovell looks and sounds WEARY. He has no conviction about the Golden promises and poems he keeps reciting.

    • What has this statement have to do with the lifting of the covid restrictions at the airport?

You may be a paid political poster, however nobody is now listening to you, please stay on the subject or refrain from commenting.

      • From a distance, am glad you realized how nonsensical this guy is. He too is on crazy meds. He responded to you using another alias JUST SAYING.
        USEFUL IDIOT
        .

  2. It’s the people’s policy… You handle your business and leave… You don’t live there… I can’t understand why we behave this way at home and go abroad and adhere to other people’s rules… Even the last update I understand from the hospital that people are encouraged to wear masks… Just dowhat dem say and galang…

  3. With that writer, I do agree. Common senses must prevail. Covid-19 restrictions were rescinded since AUGUST. What is that senseless policy still in force?

    • Franks. It might seem senseless to a lot of us, but it’s their rule. The people at Payless shoe store still have this rule as well. This is not our home, we don’t live there. This caused a couple to be arrested because they wanted to enter the place without a mask. It’s either you’re doing business with them and adhere or go elsewhere. We cannot tell people how to govern their place. Abide by the rules then leave. Plain and simple. Don’t need to heckling.
