Dear Editor:

In an era marked by relentless chaos and geopolitical tension, it’s crucial we maintain perspective and clarity. The specter of World War III looming over us is an exaggeration—a fearmongering tactic that distracts from the real issues at hand.

History, including the courageous struggle of my own Jamaican ancestors for freedom, teaches us that perseverance and steadfastness can overcome even the most oppressive forces.

Today, I want to acknowledge the brave leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu and the state of Israel for their unwavering stance against the Islamic Regime in Iran.

Their decisive actions serve not only their own sovereignty but also stand as a bulwark against a regime that has wrought death, destruction, and tyranny across the Middle East and beyond.

The Islamic Revolution, which overthrew the Shah in 1979, was not merely a political upheaval but a violent overthrow that unleashed a wave of repression—oppressing Iranians & ethnic/religious minorities, crushing women’s rights, and choking out hope for freedom.

The “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement echoes the same spirit of resistance that once fueled struggles for justice worldwide.

Iran’s regime has sponsored numerous proxy wars and terrorist groups—Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and others—spreading chaos from Lebanon to Syria and Yemen.

The regime’s hostility is also evident in its assassination attempts on dissidents and perceived opponents, both inside Iran and abroad, including prominent figures like Donald Trump.

Its slogans—“Death to America, Death to Israel”—are not empty words but deadly threats supported by Iran’s relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons and regional dominance.

Since the Islamic Revolution, millions of Iranians and other peoples throughout the Middle East (murdered by Iranian sponsored terror proxies) have died—victims of a brutal regime that suppresses its own people while fueling conflicts elsewhere.

Even international voices, such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, have acknowledged the threat stating: “We are also victims of this regime.

This mullah regime has brought death and destruction to the world. I can only say: the greatest respect for the fact that the Israeli army and leadership had the courage to do this.”

Iranians deserve to be free from this Islamic occupation. Their yearning for democracy and human rights echoes through the streets today, and the return of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi remains a beacon of hope for a liberated Iran.

The world must support this aspiration, not dismiss it with fears of global catastrophe.

Let us remember the countless lives lost  since 1979—each a testament to the brutality of the Islamic regime. The path forward is clear: supporting the Iranian people’s quest for freedom and standing firmly with Israel’s right to defend itself.

In conclusion, I assert with confidence: No, World War III is not going to happen. What is happening is a pivotal moment for justice and liberty. We must stand united with Iran’s brave fighters for freedom and the resilient state of Israel.

Long Live Free Iran! Long Live Israel!

  1. Fuck Israel there nothing more than a NAZI regime in the modern day killing everyone and anyone they can in Gaza not they want to bomb civilians in Iran using their government as an excuse, Israel goal have been documented for that their goal is to be a vesicle state to America and shape the Arab nations in their imagine. Don’t spread bullshit Israel even funded Hamas themself. Israel is a genocidal apartheid state and Zionism is no different from NAZISM that should be ended Israel should have never existed as a state Jewish settlers lived along side Palestinian people and in the other Arab nations before Zionist colonials did the nokba.

Everyone is a terrorist but when Israel invade or bomb them for no reason it’s liberation. Same old American script

  2. Your ideology seem to be ethno supremacists, please keep that to your filthy mind and don’t permeate our thought pattern with it, I guess you are Caucasian because of this ideology, the oppression of none white started before Hitler but continued by him and the west, we are not just suffering because white people are racist, but the ethno supremacists inculcation that white people is fed from birth is what created all this poverty and suffering from south america through the Caribbean to Africa and Asia, you did not cry when netanyahu slaughtered babies and women and denounced them as just mere animals or monkeys? Where is the conscience that was given to from creation?

  4. We black people need to remember that we are also oppressed like the Palestinians. The oppressors continue to use religion to keep us under control. One of the biggest mistakes the United Nations made was to create the state of Israel on Palestinians territory, now our world has to deal with this error that will probably lead to an apocalypse.

  5. I just wish them both well. Both sides have tons of money, wealth and armory that they can waste at fighting and killing each other . I am just glad that we are in a part of the world far isolated and withdrawn from the events there. One can just imagine if all the resources that are wasted on war was used to fight poverty and sickness, what a beautiful world we would have. In the end, Israel with the help and support of the US would prevail but peace in that region might never happen in our lifetime.

  6. Amen🙏🏽

An excellent and well informed article. I’m not sure which I enjoyed most, reading the article or witnessing @ Young Antiguan Communist have their usual Jew fetish wet dream so rudely interrupted.

The Islamic Republic of Iran poses a grave threat, not only to Israel, but to world peace. Tehran is home to a doomsday clock that counts down to 2040, when Israel will allegedly be destroyed by this Islamic theocracy. The Ayatollah and the rest of the mullahs are driven by a ‘religious’ cult known as Mahdism. This is the belief in a Hidden Imam, known as the Mahdi. They believe that when the Mahdi arrives, there will be an apocalyptic war, after which the world will be ruled by Islam. It truly is crank territory..and there is no negotiating with these weapons- grade nut jobs.Israel will not and cannot wait for a nuclear Holocaust.

The West can keep feeding the crocodile, hoping to be eaten last. The West is not short of useful idiots that march for terrorists such as Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. The same ghouls will obviously shill for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The same regime that brutally oppresses the Persian people.🙄

Keep seething @ Young Antiguan (barely literate) Communist and all the other ‘ apartheid, genocide, coloniser’ parrots.🦜

I’m quite enjoying Israel’s game of whack a mullah 🇮🇱

    • Yes I a man of African decent in 2025 will allow bullshit racism to be promoted you have an another thing coming to you if you thing I would let a letter like this slide. I do not hate Jewish people I hate Zionist, they are not same thing. Even labour Zionist have turn around and started apposing the fascist cult of Zionism since 1948 this is well documented.

The only country in the middle east that has a nuke is currently Israel No one is going nuke Israel and they has always been the aggressors to countries in the region, and they have always been proud of it. Tell me how can a country bombing and killing everyone children included is liberation? Should Montserrat just bomb St john’s to liberate Liberate Antigua?

Let me parrot some things from Israel for you

  7. @ the writer:

While the desire to support freedom and oppose tyranny is commendable, we must approach geopolitical conflicts with careful discernment rather than blanket endorsements of military action or one-sided narratives. The recent praise of Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government for their stance toward Iran overlooks the complexity—and the danger—of escalating rhetoric and military confrontation in an already volatile region.

To suggest that the threat of World War III is exaggerated or simply a distraction fails to recognize the interconnectedness of modern global conflicts. Actions taken in the Middle East—particularly those involving state actors with nuclear ambitions and powerful allies—can have immediate and destabilizing ripple effects far beyond the region. Dismissing these dangers as “fearmongering” risks underestimating the real possibility of global escalation.

Moreover, while the Islamic Republic of Iran has indeed committed severe human rights abuses and sponsored proxy groups in various conflicts, this reality does not automatically justify unilateral military responses or alignments with controversial leaders. Praising Netanyahu’s leadership without acknowledging his own government’s role in controversial policies—such as the expansion of settlements, the treatment of Palestinians, and ongoing military operations—presents an incomplete and potentially biased picture.

The Iranian people undeniably deserve freedom, democracy, and dignity. But meaningful change must be led by Iranians themselves, not imposed through foreign intervention or nostalgic appeals to monarchy. While some support the return of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, others see him as a remnant of a troubled past, not a unifying solution. Iran’s path forward must come from within—a democratic movement grounded in the will of the people, not one directed by external powers or figures with limited domestic legitimacy.

Lastly, framing this issue as a battle between good and evil obscures the shades of gray that define global politics. Supporting human rights and resisting authoritarianism should not mean giving carte blanche to any government, nor should it come at the cost of war. Peace, diplomacy, and genuine solidarity with oppressed peoples—not escalated conflict—are the most effective ways to support freedom and justice.

  8. @Young Antiguan Communist There is right now More conflicts in Africa where is a fact that thousand of Kids are suffering starvation, there hundreds of thousand innocents people getting murdered over there, and you have no so much energy talking about it. In fact, you never and nobody here talk about it. Conflicts between black of one factions against blacks of another factions. Is a NON STOP crisis that nobody can understand those people are killing between themselves just for have more power.
I don’t know how naive a persons can be, that you promote an Ideal society and compare it with a Real One..People Like you love to do Comparison between Ideal Socialisms Society vs the real Capitalism Society, and that is pure ignorance. But at same time refuse to move to live in a communist country. You can take a ticket and go to Live in Cuba, North Korea, China, Venezuela, RUsia, Iran, but you refuse to do so. Meaning you just are a ignorant person, because the freedom you get in Capitalism Society you cant have it in the Real Communist society. Im coming from a Communist’s Society and Antigua have by far more freedom of everything.

  9. Dear Editor,

Ms. Forbes’ letter expresses unwavering support for Israel’s military actions while condemning the Iranian regime. Yet in doing so, it paints a selective and dangerously incomplete picture—one that ignores the ongoing genocide in Gaza and undermines the foundational principles of international law and human rights.

In March 2024, Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, released a report concluding that Israel is committing acts of genocide in Gaza. Her findings are supported by extensive documentation and aligned with concerns raised by numerous international legal bodies. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), in response to a case filed by South Africa, has already ruled that the charge of genocide is “plausible”, and ordered Israel to take immediate measures to prevent genocidal acts and allow humanitarian aid.

Despite these rulings, Israel has continued its relentless campaign in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 55,000 civilians, the majority being women and children, close to 200,000 under the rubble. Entire families have been wiped out. Hospitals, schools, and UN-run shelters have been repeatedly targeted. Access to food, clean water, and medical supplies has been deliberately blocked. These are not acts of self-defense—they are systematic and widespread attacks on a trapped civilian population, condemned by international human rights organizations as war crimes and crimes against humanity.

To frame such destruction as “brave” leadership while overlooking the scale of suffering inflicted is to deny the humanity of the Palestinian people. It is also a dangerous normalization of unlawful violence.

Ms. Forbes defends Israel’s preemptive bombings in the name of security, yet under Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter, the use of force is strictly prohibited except in cases of actual armed attack or with UN Security Council authorization. Preemptive strikes are illegal, and when carried out without regard for civilian life, they represent a grave violation of international law. If Israel claims the right to such actions, then so too must Iran or any other sovereign state under threat—anything less is a double standard that weakens the rule of law globally.

This is not a defense of the Iranian regime, which itself has committed well-documented abuses. But as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wisely stated, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We cannot credibly condemn repression in Tehran while excusing genocide in Gaza. To do so is to reduce justice to a political weapon, rather than a universal standard.

If we are to stand for freedom, we must stand consistently—against dictatorship, against occupation, against genocide. That means supporting the Iranian people’s struggle for dignity, while also defending the Palestinian people’s right to life, liberty, and self-determination.

Justice must not be partisan. It must be principled. Let us not be silent in the face of any atrocity—no matter who commits it.

    Ahms

  10. @Audley Phillip June 19, 2025 At 9:53 pm
You are so clueless about world events. You think because thinks are happening all the way in the middle east it doesn’t effect you. There is a poem that goes like this.
First They Came Pastor Martin Niemoller
First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me.

You sound just like that person. Everyone can see how the world is hypocritical and letting the Palestinians down. While Israel gets to commit genocide not heard of for a long time. It took South Africa to push the UN and the Criminal Court in The Hague to declare Netanjahu a war criminal. But the USA being above any international Law will have nothing of that. Any other leader would have long time he captured and extradited to the The Hague. But he is now going to create yet another war. And these are the men of the APOCALYPSE. But like Brother Bob sung. Have no fear for Atomic Energy cause none of them can stop the TIME. We are just being made ready for the big day. DOOMS DAY. When will this things be? Just look at the signs of the time. War and Rumours of War. Yet the end will not come.

  11. the hell with Israel, dam racist dutty warmonger devils who feel they can bully anyone they feel. They all need to perish.

  12. I would not even try to address the writer, Ms. Forbes, because it is obvious that she is just a propaganda machine that is very clueless but thing she is helping.

@Arnaldo, I see you are referring to Young Antiguan Communist as naive but perhaps you should look in the mirror. You mentioned about the wars going on in African but have you looked before what the western media reports? Sudan is a poor country, where do they get all the ammunitions to keep fight for so long? Do they make them there or are they given to both sides?

For yearssss Israel has been claiming that Iran is weeks away from developing nuclear bombs, just as they did with Iraq and we all know what was the outcome of that situation. Choice of words are so important, “Israel has a right to defend itself”. Israel goes in an attack Iran, and yet it is defending itself from Iran, wow. Doesn’t Iran has a right to defend itself?

The real question is, who are the real terrorist?

  13. @Young Antiguan Communist

Really, as a Black man, you think this is your fight too because you stand against racism?🙄

Black Americans were exploited by the leader of the Palestinians, Yasser Arafat- who was actually Egyptian. The PLO ( Palestinian Liberation Organisation) aligned themselves with the Black Panthers. Photos of Arafat and Malcolm X together were used to forge the illusion that the PLO was about liberation; something Black leaders would feel obliged to stand united with.

In truth, the PLO sought to destroy the Jews. Which is what ‘From the River to the Sea’ means. ‘Liberation’ was more palatable than being transparent about their actual aims of annihilation of a people. Moreover, they sought to keep the Palestinian people in a perpetual state of war because it earned them billions. They never wanted peace, and the same remains true till this day.

The PLO exploited widespread ignorance of the region and its people. The absurd myth that Arabs were the oppressed brown people, whilst the Jews were the white colonisers was engineered. Most people were unaware that Jews came in all hues, as do the Arabs. Nothing quite like accusing the Jews of colonising (Jews are from Judea) when the Arabs colonised Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen and the rest of the Arabian Peninsula.

Jews being ‘white’ conveniently erased the Mizrachi Jews (from Yemen, Egypt etc) and the lie gained traction. The claim that Israel was an apartheid state was another attempt at deceiving the world, and quite frankly is an insult to those that suffered the real deal. Likewise, the term genocide is being exploited by the same nefarious actors. You might want to familiarise yourself with the term Abeed..because that’s exactly where you would be living if you choose to shimmie on over to the Palestinian territories. The ‘Al abeed’ quarter is for the Afro-Palestinians that were taken there via the Arab slave trade. Abeed means slave.

One Black Panther, Eldridge Cleaver, became fiercely pro- Palestinian. Then he actually went to Algeria in 1969, and to his surprise he discovered that Blacks were still enslaved. These were his words:

” I saw slaves in Algeria. They have slaves in Mauritania. They have slaves in all those countries.”

That was the end of Cleaver’s love affair with ‘Palestine’. The Arabs were responsible for the Trans- Saharan slave trade which lasted for 17 centuries. Slavery still goes on TODAY in countries such as Sudan, Mauritania and Libya.

Islamic Jihad has been terrorising Africans, yet there is a deafening silence. No marches..no speeches from ‘leaders’, the UN or any celebrities. The hypocrisy is nauseating.

What happened to the girls that were kidnapped in Nigeria In 2014? Michelle Obama briefly led—and then abandoned—the well-advertised “#BringBackOurGirls” campaign.

The Sahel, especially Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, is now a terrorism hub, outpacing the Middle East. Yet the world has no interest in the victims of Islamic Jihad. Whether the victims are Israeli or African….the rapes, kidnappings, beheadings, and burning of churches and whole villages are ‘inconvenient’.

Of course, you’re an expert on Zionism; it’s not about Jews, really it isn’t.🙄 Despite the fact that 95% of Jews are Zionist. Zio or Zionist has become a slur..code word for Jew. Your Holocaust inversion by comparing the world’s only Jewish state to the Nazi regime is antisemitism in itself. A slur designed to inflict pain on Jewish people, by comparing them to Nazis.

Israel always attacks🤣..not quite. Israel was invaded by the Arab armies in 1948 with the intention of driving the Jews into the sea. The Arab armies lost. Again, Israel was attacked during the Yom Kippur War. Just like more recently when Hamas invaded Israel butchering, raping, burning and kidnapping 1440 people. Start a war, then scream victim. And yes, I do think that Montserrat would attack St.John’s if it had it’s own October 7th. Why would they allow a repeat of thie massacre which Hamas promises to do time and time again? I also believe that they have every right to try and bring back their hostages.

As you brought up the subject of Nazism, perhaps you didn’t realise that there are shops in Gaza named after Hitler. His portrait can be found all over the place. Mein Kampf in Arabic is one of the most read books. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al- Husseini, the father of Palestinian radicalism, worked with Hitler himself on a plan to exterminate the Jews living in the Middle East. The baton of Nazism just passed onto the Palestinian movement.

Spare us your accusations of fascism…especially from someone who wears ‘communist’ as if it’s a badge of honour.

  14. @JBF

To clarify which countries are supplying weapons to Sudan, Iran is one of them. Russia too. The Islamic Republic of Iran supplies the SAF (which is basically Muslim Brotherhood )with drones and rockets. There might be a few issues with the supply chain now 🔥

Once Iraq’s nuclear reactor was taken out by 🇮🇱 in 1981, Kuwait was able to be liberated.

  15. @ S Ahmed

The Francesca Albanese, the first ever UN rapporteur in history to be condemned by Germany and France for antisemitism. Albanese claimed that Hamas was ‘justified’ when they unleashed their Jihadi barbarism upon all those innocent victims on October 7th. As a true feminist, she also denied the sexual crimes committed by Hamas.

South Africa, the same South Africa that brings bogus claims of genocide against Israel whilst their very own Julius Malema calls for the genocide of White farmers. The ANC Government helped Bashir escape the ICC despite being wanted for war crimes. Let’s be clear, the ICJ has NOT ruled that Israel is committing genocide.

Whilst describing the ‘relentless campaign’ in Gaza, you missed out some context. Hamas and Islamic Jihad deliberately hide within hospitals, amongst civilians, travel in ambulances, all with the aim of sacrificing as many innocent people as possible. They launched their evil Jihadi war knowing full well that they hadn’t built one single bomb shelter for the Palestinians. They scarpered to the tunnels like the rats they are whilst the leaders buggered off to Qatar to their five-star hotels and villas. Article 19 of the Geneva Convention states that hospitals are legitimate targets if used for military purposes.

You quote Hamarse casualty numbers, which include people that have died more than once. Would you do the same if this were ISIS, because let’s be real; they’re the same Jihadi scum. Hamas steal the food and shoot people dead if they challenge them. So, if you cared about the Palestinian plight, you would be loudly denouncing them.

If the Jews had no army to protect them, they would be destined to the same fate of other minorities in the Middle East. You know, the Yazidis that faced a genocide at the hands of ISIS. I don’t remember any marches for them. Their women were taken as sex slaves, with thousands still missing today. And the useless UN does sweet FA. In fact, one of those Yazidi slaves was rescued from Gaza by the IDF.

This is a religious war according to Hamas and their sugar daddy, the Islamic Republic of Iran. They will never accept living alongside Israel. Their intention is to make Jerusalem the capital of their Caliphate. But unfortunately for the rest of the infidels, they intend to take Rome too. First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people.

Release the hostages and leave Israel the fck alone.

  16. PRESIDENT TRUMP and PRIME MINISTER HONOURABLE BENJAMIN NETANYAHU you are all talking too much you need to ACT TIME is running out. Please refer to OPERATION OPERA on 7 june 1981 BOMBING of a NUCLEAR REACTOR NAMED OSIRAK OR TAMMUZI in IRAQ. After the bombing the GOVERNMENT and MENACHEM BEGIN EXPOUNDED on what came to be known as the BEGIN DOCTRINE:” On no ACCOUNT shall we PERMIT an ENEMY to DEVELOP WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION (WMD) AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL”, BEGIN EXPLICITLY STATED THE STRIKE WAS NOT AN ANOMALY BUT INSTEAD CALLED THE EVENT”A PRECEDENT FOR EVERY FUTURE GOVERNMENT IN ISRAEL.”MR BEGIN RETORTED THAT HE HAS NO APOLOGIES TO THE WORLD,IF IRAQ BUILD ANOTHER REACTOR TODAY I WILL BOMB IT THE NEXT DAY. THAT IS A LEADER HE MUST BE TURNING IN HIS GRAVE.

Your message contains several misleading claims, selective narratives, and outright fabrications that deserve clarification:

    1) On Francesca Albanese:
Francesca Albanese is the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. Contrary to your claim, she has not been formally condemned by Germany or France in any official capacity; political disagreements expressed by individual diplomats or politicians do not amount to disciplinary actions by the United Nations. Albanese has consistently called for adherence to international humanitarian law, including the protection of all civilians, regardless of nationality or religion.

Notably, she has legally clarified—based on the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions—that an occupying power does not have the same legal right to invoke self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter against the population it occupies. This view is grounded in international legal scholarship and jurisprudence. The principle is that an occupier has a legal obligation to protect civilians under its control, not wage war against them. Her position aligns with longstanding interpretations by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and numerous UN bodies, which affirm that Israel remains the occupying power in Gaza despite its 2005 disengagement, due to its continued control over airspace, maritime borders, population registry, and movement.

    2) On South Africa’s ICJ case:
South Africa submitted a legal challenge under the Genocide Convention—a right granted to all member states. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) found the case plausible enough to proceed and ordered provisional measures. While a final ruling is pending, the ICJ has not exonerated Israel; in fact, it affirmed that there’s a credible risk of genocide requiring urgent intervention.

    3) On Hamas and hospitals:
Claims that all hospitals in Gaza are militarized targets lack independent verification. Under international law, Article 19 of the Geneva Convention requires strict evidence before targeting medical facilities. Blanket justifications have led to the destruction of hundreds of health facilities and mass civilian deaths, which cannot be dismissed with generalizations.

    4) On casualty numbers:
The Gaza Ministry of Health, even under scrutiny, has provided detailed demographic breakdowns, which U.S. intelligence and independent agencies (including WHO, UNICEF, and OCHA) have deemed broadly credible. The claim that deaths are “counted more than once” has no substantiated basis and is often used to dismiss the enormous civilian toll, particularly of women and children.

    5) On Yazidis and double standards:
Many international marches, aid efforts, and advocacy campaigns took place in support of Yazidis, and their suffering is not a justification for silencing or minimizing the suffering of Palestinians. Human rights are not a zero-sum game. To care about one cause does not negate another.

    6) On Hamas leadership and motivations:
While Hamas is responsible for serious violations—including the October 7 attacks—the collective punishment of 2.3 million Palestinians, 70% of whom are women and children, does not constitute justified retaliation.
Blaming all Palestinians for the acts of Hamas is a textbook violation of international humanitarian law, and asserting that millions deserve this fate because of their geography or rulers is morally indefensible.

    7) On religious war rhetoric:
Framing this as a religious war ignores the root causes: decades of military occupation, land confiscation, settlement expansion, and systematic dispossession. Not all opposition to Israeli policy is religious—most of it is about basic rights, dignity, and freedom.

    8) On hostage release and peace:
Calls to “leave Israel the f*** alone” ignore the fact that Palestinians have lived under military rule, siege, and statelessness for generations. A just and durable peace requires accountability, de-escalation, and respect for all lives—Israeli and Palestinian alike.
The release of hostages and political prisoners should be pursued, but not in exchange for the wholesale destruction of a civilian population.

    Final note:
Using dehumanizing language like “rats” and “Jihadi scum” does not elevate your argument—it reflects the very hatred and extremism that fuels cycles of violence. If the goal is peace and justice, we must condemn all war crimes, reject collective punishment, and stop using selective empathy to justify injustice.

While a final ruling is pending, the ICJ has not exonerated Israel; in fact, it affirmed that there’s a credible risk of genocide requiring urgent intervention.

    On Hamas and hospitals:
Claims that all hospitals in Gaza are militarized targets lack independent verification. Under international law, Article 19 of the Geneva Convention requires strict evidence before targeting medical facilities. Blanket justifications have led to the destruction of hundreds of health facilities and mass civilian deaths, which cannot be dismissed with generalizations.

    On casualty numbers:
The Gaza Ministry of Health, even under scrutiny, has provided detailed demographic breakdowns, which U.S. intelligence and independent agencies (including WHO, UNICEF, and OCHA) have deemed broadly credible. The claim that deaths are “counted more than once” has no substantiated basis and is often used to dismiss the enormous civilian toll, particularly of women and children.

    On Yazidis and double standards:
Many international marches, aid efforts, and advocacy campaigns took place in support of Yazidis, and their suffering is not a justification for silencing or minimizing the suffering of Palestinians. Human rights are not a zero-sum game. To care about one cause does not negate another.

    On Hamas leadership and motivations:
While Hamas is responsible for serious violations—including the October 7 attacks—the collective punishment of 2.3 million Palestinians, 70% of whom are women and children, does not constitute justified retaliation.
Blaming all Palestinians for the acts of Hamas is a textbook violation of international humanitarian law, and asserting that millions deserve this fate because of their geography or rulers is morally indefensible.

    On religious war rhetoric:
Framing this as a religious war ignores the root causes: decades of military occupation, land confiscation, settlement expansion, and systematic dispossession. Not all opposition to Israeli policy is religious—most of it is about basic rights, dignity, and freedom.
