Letter to the Editor: Is There a Serial Killer Among Us?

Dear Editor,

The recent spate of missing persons cases in Antigua is a deeply troubling development that demands urgent attention.

The disappearance of Keon Richards, whose vehicle was recently found by police, adds to a growing list of unresolved cases, including Orden “Passo” David and Donna-Marie Christian. Disturbingly, David’s vehicle was discovered burned out, yet he too remains missing.

The authorities have been urging the public to report disappearances promptly, but this alone is not enough.

We must ask whether we are facing something far more sinister. Are these disappearances mere coincidences, or is there a pattern emerging? Could Antigua be dealing with a serial offender who is preying on unsuspecting individuals?

If so, law enforcement must act swiftly and decisively. A dedicated task force should be established to investigate these cases collectively, rather than treating them as isolated incidents.

The public, too, must be vigilant and cooperate fully with the authorities, sharing any information that could help locate these missing individuals.

The families of the missing deserve answers, and the nation deserves to feel safe. We cannot afford to dismiss the possibility of a serial predator at work. The time to act is now.

Sincerely, Binoculars

  1. It’s a thin line between a serial killing and a ritual killing.
Due to the size, geography, layout, culture of the island. A serial killer would probably have a hard time getting rid of evidences, by herself, himself or S’HIMself; versus, RITUAL KILLING which could involve two individuals to a group, gang or Order.

While a percentage, of the uptick in criminal activity’s can be attributed to #copy_cat or crimes of opportunity, this percentage could be very low. Most of the reported crimes and criminal activities seem to planned and targeted, or as they say, PREMEDITATED.

Serial versus RITUAL which is it?

  2. no, but there’s a serial killer in the UPP. Killing the morale of the party members. Killing democracy. Killing the party’s growth and effectiveness. Killing leadership. Killing the primary elections process. Kill, kill, kill.

  3. It’s honestly time for the police, and soldiers to step out in full force every single day and night(mostly at nights). It’s not all of them, but majority of them sit in the police station doing Jack shit, and with so much time on their hands they leak sensitive information to cases for kicks and giggles. Instead of solving and fighting crime. police officers are there to not only solve crimes, they are there to deter crime from even happening in the first place with their presence and force.

They get vehicles ever so often, a few weeks or months later they are totaled. Question, how often do we have police cases in antigua, where the vehicles are constantly recked? Don’t get me wrong, most civilians don’t pay attention to sirens, further more you barely hear the siren until they next to you. Back on topic; tap go a whore house a look wife a nite time, and actually patrol the island, put up random check points at night, even if it has to be at multiple points on the island and stop sharing information with the ones that’s hurting our people. Come our sweet little island is becoming what we don’t need it to become, with all this violence and unnecessary crimes.

Weed out the lazy, and corrupt officers. As you find them, get rid of them, it’s that simple. When we clean up our force, then we can clean up our country point blank.

The government officials, police officers, defense force, and the people of antigua all need to do this for our island. Mind you I didn’t just say Antiguan because our island is a melting pot of nationalities, and I’m not on no hate train. We want better, so we all have to do better.

Finally, we need to start hanging, or whatever method of execution that’s necessary to try and curb this problem that the country is facing. The so called criminals(badman) always bad until they get caught and dem beg and bawl for dem muma; the irony 😂. I’m sick of it, I miss what Antigua use to be, the guns and murders are way out of now. Much love and respect to everybody.

  4. I think more ritual murders as no trace can be found. Police and Army patrols cannot solve this. Antigua is small, someone has to know what is going on or suspect. This needs undercover work or people willing to come forward with information. However, we have a culture of distrust of the Police so that will not happen. The recent abuse of an elderly person by the Police will serve to harden people’s distrust of the police even more. So where does that leave us? I suppose we are on our own and we must take responsibility for our own safety. Here is a for example. Many people hit the roads and beaches at 5 am for exercise. The routes and beaches are well known. Has anyone ever seen a police patrol even once on any of these roads or beaches? Let me answer. No. No. No.

  5. It’s either ppl are being abducted for organs harvesting or for ritual sacrifices but I strongly believe individuals are being abducted and taken out on small boats to a mother ship far off the coast then their organs are removed and the body thrown over board, because there’s no way in hell that ppl are disappearing without a trace in a country so small and nobody hear or see nothing, no clues left behind just disappearance out of thin air. An abduction investigation team needs to be put in place rapidly because we have become a target. Who so ever is responsible for the abductions knows the weaknesses in our level of security in this country and they are taking full advantage of it.

  6. @prince. I would have agreed with you on the establishment of an abduction investigating team but where will you find the personnel for that team? The Police could not find hay in a haystack And I don’t blame them. I blame the sytem. The poor salary etc that attracts the lowest part of the educational and common sense ladder. I blame the useless Minister in charge who has done nothing to ensure ongoing training and a clear way to upward mobility. Friends, supporters and family determine promotion and it is why alot of competent officers have quit. The Minister’s son in law, a few years in the force with no special training or education has rank. No plan for succession so no Commissioner in sight. What a mess.

  7. What I am observing is that the ALP administration I s silent because certain comrade , that own hospital that provide body parts replacement for rich customers from around the world should be investigated, all doctors should be called to a meeting to help solve this crime, audit their work establishment, and I am talking about the police allowed to do their jobs and not tip toe around politicians a and monied class, but come to think of it and impoverished police officer will limit his social interaction to certain level, he or she will not offend certain status of people above their own, it would take policemen from a wealthy background to see straight ahead and do their job or bringing police from the develop world here to investigate, these present police live among us and won’t upset the status quo. The empty stem cell office on friars hill road was a facade, they should be question extensively, isn’t much more profitable to grow organs in let’s say rich north America? They came to poor Antigua to do that instead, a population that is dependent on government medical institution like clinics and hospital freebs, something smell fishy, criminal element always arrive with this corrupt politicians.
