LETTER: InterCaribbean Left Me and My Child Stranded in St. Lucia

6

On Monday 21st August 2023 we had a flight on InterCaribbean Airways to St Lucia via Barbados.

The flight leaving Antigua was delayed and when we got to Barbados our connecting flight had left.

We were placed in a hotel overnight and placed on the next flight the next morning (22nd).

Now it’s time to come home, they tell us at the airport they don’t have any information for us to leave because we stayed in Barbados so our itinerary was deleted from the system because we didn’t reconfirm.

Now if they didn’t tell us that we need to reconfirm how are we to know this?

InterCaribbean needs to come better than this.

All the governments of the Caribbean need to stand up to this airline with the f***kry that they are doing to people.

  1. Good fu you. Tell SKIRT CHASER RALPH and BADMINDED MAN VICE MIA dat!!!! Dem min wish fu LIAT to “disappear” and bring in 2 old washed up RINLY-DINKY JALLOPY “airline”

  2. Please bring back LIAT but with proper management and a team that will make it a profitable airline and get the people to where they need to go. It is not good what is being said about InterCaribbean Airlines. LIAT! LIAT!

    • Totally in agreement with you. InterCaribbean Airlines is the worst excuse for an Airline. The whole team from management to front line staff need to be trained.

The planes need a good washing down and sanitizing – they are musty.

  3. First of all, you should not have to reconfirm your flight in this day and age. If your connecting flight had departed before you got to Barbados and they put you up in a hotel, it means they have already realized the problem. The customer service agent should have rebooked you before even sending you to the hotel.

Based on how this airline is operating, maybe we have to say thanks that they put you up because they have been leaving people stranded on the airports – really sad.

But I believe the time has come for the Governments of the region to come together and try to get a proper ferry service in place (it could be privately run). A service like this would really strengthen regional integration.

  4. They’re terrible airlines & bad staff, I had similar experience this year february 2023 from st lucia to barbados on my way back to st lucia from barbados, the aircraft had not left terminal they said it had left, st lucia vigil office says it has not left, they should let me board but they refused, i had to pay $500 to board next available flight which was a week after.
