How Many More Foreign Violent Criminals Are Among Us?

Dear Editor,

It is with growing concern that I write about a disturbing trend in our beloved Antigua and Barbuda.

The recent deportation of Jamaican national Odane Lee has brought to light a serious issue that demands our immediate attention.

Mr. Lee, who was deported for overstaying, was revealed to be wanted in Jamaica for a heinous crime – the rape of a female passenger in December 2022.

The Jamaica police disclosed that Lee, while operating a taxi, diverted to the Barbary Hall sports complex where he committed this atrocious act.

Following an investigation and a warrant for his arrest, he was finally apprehended at the Norman Manley International Airport on May 30, 2024.

This incident raises serious concerns about our border security.

How many more foreign violent criminals are among us?

The government must take immediate action to prevent such individuals from entering our country.

The safety and security of our citizens are paramount, and it is clear that current measures are insufficient.

We call on the government to impose immediate visa restrictions on Jamaican nationals.

This is a necessary step to ensure that individuals with criminal backgrounds are not able to exploit our hospitality and endanger our community.

The authorities must also enhance background checks and work closely with international law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend criminals before they can enter Antigua and Barbuda. Our nation’s security depends on it.

Sincerely,- Ah Yah mE Barn

  1. here we fucking go!!! I was Wait in on someone to say something
not that you dnt make a valid point about back ground check that should be a must but at the said time worry about the criminal here worry about those homes being targeting ppl an robbing ppl an PPL fearing there life soon as a Jamaican do something you all stray away from the criminals here who born Antuguan dnt loose sight a that dear

  2. I Agree with the visa restrictions for Jamaican, Guyanese, Dominican Republic, and maybe more.

To answer the author’s question, about 40 to 60 of Jamaicans that enters Antigua and Barbuda have a criminal or deviant behavior record.

Also, 90 to 95% of them could not quality on the good moral characteristics requirement for the US visa requirement and if Antigua had one, 75% of Jamaicans in Antigua for the last 20 years would not qualify.

I do not see anything wrong with having a basic requirement for Jamaicans and Guyanese.

During my research I also discovered inherently dangerous crimes in Antigua was and is taught and encouraged by Jamaicans and other foreigners. Which Antiguans then imitate.

Not taking away blame fir the wrongs of native Antiguans but root cause is Jamaicans, Dominican (both countries) and Guyanese influence on Antiguans.

Also, guns are not only coming from the US illegal but also from countries like Jamaica, Guyana and other Caribbean countries into Antigua illegally.

Statements made from intense research and investigations.

  3. I agree with you but dnt put the blame on Jamaicans only because one of them has been caught what about st Vincent every week a next boat arrive in the country with weed n guns st Martin an other country’s No one is talking about those country’s alot of things is contributing to the high rise of crime an the government needs to do better the criminals dnt fair the police or the system it seems ,they need to do checks when arriving in the island, they need to clamp down on the boats arriving in the country its a big contribution to the crime .

  4. Welll said all bloggers!!!!!

You have greedy Antiguan fishermen using their boats to bring in guns & drugs and persons from these islands mentioned to evade immigration officers and police at the airport….

ANTIGUAN FISHERMAN IS AIDING AND ALBEIT THESE CRIMINALS TRUST

THIS WHY FINGER PRINTING / READING MACHINE HAS TO BE UPDATED AND IMPLEMENTED IMMIGRATION

TOO MANY NATIONALS FROM THESE ISLANDS are slipping thru the cracks and they aren’t the best ppl to be in Antigua

Do Jamaicans Guyanese Haitians Spanish soon want ANTIGUANS TO LIVE IN FEAR?

MOREOVER WHAT IS CUTIE & GASTON DOING bcos this issue needs IMMEDIATE ATTENTION !!

A few years ago a lady from st Lucia comment and said 3 guys she knows been charged for murder she saw them here living in Antigua ..

  5. They should be proper immigration checks on everyone visiting. Whether Americans , European , Latin Americans or the Caribbean. This only shows this CSME not working ,because if a criminal from any Caribbean island is leaving his country to visit another island ,the authorities should notify the immigration and police of his criminal history . I guess they are happy too get rid a them .

  6. Well said, Antigua needs a cleansing of all those inadmissible criminals. We need proper immigration policies Acount ability for every foreign subject that arrive here proper protection for it citizens,we cannot continue to make it free fall for all , powers that be
you need to fix it xx of

  7. “my way of helping” you’re one of them dunce Antiguan,so Antiguan ppl don’t know how to do crime on their own, really.just gtfoh.

  8. First how did he leave Jamaica. This is happening too often.Two. Antigua do have criminals too…. just like all the countries ACROSS the world who like to have Antigua for their point of escaping criminal charges in their own country .we need to have proper immigration officers. N JESUS in all Ports point of entries in our little Antigua.

  9. I have no issues with foreigners, but do thorough background checks on all of them especially the Jamaicans, there was a scene in the movie Third World Cop wher Antigua is promoted a safe haven for criminals to run to. Their is also a recent video on Skiesmedia TV where a Jamaican man was asked “what feels good the more you do it?” and he said “nuh must kill people” 🤦🏾‍♂️ that is in no way a joke to me.

  10. @KMT: You must be a Jamaican. You’re brazen enough to think you should dictate to Antiguans what they should focus on.
Antiguans can focus on both foreign and national criminals at the same time; but, more focus should be on the ones who aren’t from here — because they shouldn’t be here — and they need to be thrown out of here. That’s what I would expect Jamaica to do if an Antiguan criminals are there.

You’re free to LEAVE ANU if it upsets you that Antiguans don’t want criminals Jamaicans here.

  11. @Straight across the border, I do not comprehend what you are trying to say.

Is it that you are saying Antigua already knows how to handle the crime problem? If so, why is there a crime problem up to the moment of me writing this comment? Are you saying ABLP intentionally allows the BARRK, inherently dangerous crimes, rate to increase intentionally based on what you wrote?

To anything else you are attempting to say, my response herein will convey the answer.

  12. A wah! When them enter Antigua them have the right to stay forever? Get the immigration organize without political interference to do there job, train immigration officer in law enforcement arming them with guns and shackles and facility for detention and budget to operate in maintaining our borders. Immigration patrol and apprehending of potential violators of vacation time given. And no entrance unless able to show a hotel paid booking or someone to sponsor or claim them at the airport, when white people come it’s the same, oops! The politicians will give amnesty and citizenship for votes even though these criminals are wanted in their home land, am sure this guy voted in the last general elections.
