Meanwhile, the officers of Government have normalized the contempt towards local business people with their small businesses, by not paying their invoices,and refusing to offset their utilities and other routine business payments to the treasury.
Meanwhile, the Leaders have discovered ‘Black Gold’ and are trading Antigua people’s land for outstanding debts and favors to their white and ‘passing white’ yellow and all except black local people.
One business woman recently complained that whereas the Minister gave a letter, establishing that big monies over 9 years owed by a Statutory body should get some relief, through off-setting in areas like APUA, and any other applicable exchange instances with Government, the Officers in charge have bluntly refused.
We recently heard the Chief of Staff complaining that Government Officers are refusing to follow the instructions of the Cabinet and Ministers; we have also seen the removal of officers without investigations.
Clearly the business of government has broken down and replaced with the normalization of wrongdoing at the highest levels.
Government officers actually reveal the financial business affairs of its local clients without authorization, and further actually give access to the private business of locals in order to collect unauthorized monies.

Worse, these Government officers have no understanding of business ethics, and brush off objections as nothing.
The contempt which comes down through the leadership, passes like oil down through the Public Service, as the officers personalize their service according to the politics of the day, ostracizing and denying those who do not support the Party in power, or just as an inconsequential local.
This contempt really has not changed from the dark days of the plantation where the Great House servants were given power over the blackest and most wretched of the earth.
