Dear Editor,
Death is inevitable and we are all conscious of such phenomenon. However, whenever death that grueling monster comes our way, no one can be strong enough to welcome it….
Ricardo definitely will be missed. The outpour of friends, family members & supporters at his funeral clearly demonstrated how much he was loved.
The memories of Ricardo as an individual along with his dynamic contributions as a soca artist will absolutely live on.
His funeral will also be engraved in the minds of many.
The tributes were resounding and they all had a similar sentiment in common; that is Ricardo was a loving & caring person.
He showed his love to his families, friends & supporters by frequently reaching out to them by telephone, WhatsApp or any other platform & shared whatever advice he could.
I am sure that many of us if not all have spent some moments reflecting on the relationship or impact that Ricardo had in in our lives, hence we ask the question why do people like Ricardo have to leave us so soon?
Of course, God is the only one who has that answer & he absolutely knows best. I will admit I am not a fan of his …. I am really in Tian Winter’s corner. However, his untimely departure certainly left me very emotional.
Clearly life is very fragile…. It’s amazing to see how death is not prejudice. At the point when the vehicle carrying his corpse turned into the yard at the funeral parlour where many were seen saying their last good bye, I couldn’t help but break down in tears realizing that this will his last with us….. It will be a moment that will not be forgotten.
Fairwell Ricardo, you have fought a good fight, you have completed your course, you have done a great job, so now I say RIP my brother, the memory of your deeds & works will definitely live on forever.
Alex

Yes, Absolutely heartfelt. Ricardo’s departure has left a void that resonates deeply within us all. The outpouring of love at his funeral truly showcased the impact he had on countless lives. His lasting legacy as both an individual and a talented artist will be cherished. Let us remember and honor his loving spirit and the indelible mark he left on each of us. Rest in peace, Ricardo.
I sometimes believe God removes those we take for granted or don’t truly appreciate, to teach us a painful lesson. We can have our favorites but still respect the other side because at the end of the day, we’re one. Many Antiguans didn’t appreciate him because of his T&T background but as an International Soca Artist, Antigua’s, not T&T and Antigua, but Antigua’s flag flew high everywhere he went. We’re now back to zero.
