I read a letter to ANR about a person in quarantine for 25 days with no response from the Ministry of Health. I know of 4 persons in this same position.
This has nothing to do with the system being overwhelmed. This is pure inept management by the Minister, the CMO and the PS.
And it has created a very dangerous situation that is contributing to the ever-rising number of Covid cases.
There is no accountability in this country but maybe now is the time to start dealing with accountability.
I met someone last week.
14 days ago, he felt sick, so he went to a private lab and did the rapid test. It was positive so he went home to quarantine. He called the Covid hotline and the Ministry of Health for 14 days straight. NO ONE ANSWERED.
He was ill for the first few days with fever, pains, and diarrhea. Following that he felt much better.
At the end of the 14 days, he went back to the lab, did the rapid test which was negative, and he is back on his job.
He has not been counted in the government’s Covid numbers because he was never contacted.
Obviously, no contact tracing has been done. God knows how many others have been infected.
This person did the right thing. He quarantined. But he must work to live. he cannot afford to sit around waiting for the jokey Ministry of Health.
This situation is totally unacceptable, and no number of protocols can save us if this kind of crap continues.

Is anyone surprised by this? Seriously! We don’t invest in the resources necessary to deal with these things.
