Dear Editor,
I originally had no intention to get involved in the politics of St. Paul but a couple of things have forced me to comment on Alan Weston’s independent candidacy.
First of all, as a born Antiguan I have had a bugbear for years over the Caucasianisation of English Harbour. Now they are getting involved in our politics.
In these times when we are fighting for reparations, it seems that the slavery mentality has returned.
I have passed Weston’s Campaign Office on Dockyard Drive a couple of times and a whitey is running things. And who is this person, who has bought for Weston?
Does he have a work permit?, no permanent status ? But he wanted to take over the Sailing Academy for his own business. When he was not permitted so to do, he buys a local ‘boy’ to attack the system.
I could not interfere in his country, which produced the apartheid Afrikaans in South Africa.
I am attaching photos to show who is really supporting Weston. In fact, one CIP passport holder flew in to Antigua, to be one of the persons to nominate Weston. And only because they control him.
The second thing that really offended me is a comment by the know-it-all Eli Fuller, who called Weston, brave and a patriot.
Brave and patriotic to the highest bidder, after selling out your birth right. Is that how brave and patriotic are defined?
Weston’s grandfather, John Meade, the late ALP diehard and VC Bird’s right hand, must be spinning in his grave.

well we can see who Alan is catering to. A modern day Uncle Tom?
Dear letter writer, as the saying goes: Love it or learn to live with it. Unfortunately we have too many sell-outs in (268) look at the amount that sold out UPP the one you wrote about is just another and they are just waiting for the right offer. A mess of pottage is more important than their soul. We need a cleansing
Every Antiguan and Barbudan even the CIP passport holders are entitled to support and vote for whomever they feel would make a great candidate. I’m a black Antiguan and take offense to your use of the word “whitey” in the article. There are a lot of these “whiteys” who are contributing to Antigua in a positive way. They are the conservationists and curators or our lands – blacks couldn’t care less about the environment and conservation for future generations. It shows your ignorance as a person when you devolve into name calling and race baiting. If you feel you have better ideas and can contribute to the political process do so! If not drink water and mind your business!!!!!
I wish election were yesterday lol. Everything is some drama now.
Independent candidates don’t even usually get much traction; why the fire for this man? Because he has Caucasian support, in an area that does have a Caucasian makeup to its residents?
If his grandfather was indeed V.C Bird’s right hand, maybe the politics gene has kicked in.
Let people try
Oh! for the shame of crying out loud, at the stupid spook and stooges of infamy. No longer shall you be imbued from shame and contempt. Come you now: like a wolf in sheep clothing, among innocent compatriots just to deny our own forbearance of battles fought and claimed. On who’s shoulder you now laude your stance of ungrateful contemptible dissonance of collusion with your known enemies. Surely, you have not learned your lesson well: of the meaning of black skin/ white mask. You, grabbing at the illusionary hope of bedding with the enemies; for the luster from tarnish brass, as fitting gold. Alas! Come let me show you the leaping cliffs in St. Paul’s, of your forefathers sacrificial leap for freedom or rather death. Now for you to be offering yourself as a prodigal son, in the diabolical scheme of Trojan interlopers vying for inclusive solemnity. Yes you! Most fitted to be tar and feathered; in your vanity to be relevant in the sight of those who deem you most worthy, as to close you mind to the vision before your very eyes. Or, is it not your brighter harbinger, of Neo-Colonization by the dollar, disguise as your fetid Massa assimilation being manifest by the yellow streak running down the center of your back–that should’ve been white as a skunk. Oh! Yes! We can smell you now.
John Meade must be spinning in his grave to see the level of corruption in the ALP. Writer, kindly remember that it is the ALP that has sold our passports to the highest bidder and so causing your so-called caucasionization of English Harbour.
Question for the letter writer. Do you think he is running to win or just as a potential spoiler. He is certainly no Asot
The man and woman of color have rights as any of us once they pay taxes and are legal to do so I have no problem with that outside of politics these people contribute a lot that we may not be told about ,pls don’t make the color of the skin fool u many are born Antiguans as well it’s not just now persons fly in to vote them leave so what u mention is nothing new and who is responsible for selling CIP passport up to this day so only when they on the opposite end of the stick we have a problem ?
Writer,
Is this independent a threat to the political landscape of St. Pauls?
If so, are you afraid of the how the outcome may affect your candidate?
We embrace the Caucasians when it suits us? How about the other non-nationals that vote in our elections ?
Cool nah!
