Dear Editor,
There are great things that Global Ports have brought to Antigua but Antiguans don’t seem ready to work for the company.
Since an Antiguan has been in charge of the cruise port it looks like people from overseas have to run the company here.
If you visit Heritage Quay, it looks like people from overseas always have to get the Antiguans in line over and over and over again.
It is funny because Antigua was the first Caribbean country to sign on with Global Ports but not a single Antiguan is a director.
The Bahamas signed with Global Ports after and they have directors.
The ink on the St. Lucian deal has barely dried and St. Lucia has directors. Why have Antiguans not been given these opportunities?
I think I know why, Antiguans are not up to par.
It looks like global does not want to upset Antiguans so they are trying to force very square Antiguan pegs into round holes.
Some of them no have no qualifications like me and you but if you see how they behave in Heritage Quay.
Maybe they need the St. Lucian lady to come back and run the company.

Something mysterious that these people who brand themselves global port, wants management of ports in Antigua and the few other Caribbean islands which gives them access to large ship where anything can be stow away to reach the American and European markets, and it’s only with independent corrupt countries this happen with, no depending territory is approach since oversight would more visible.

I must agree with your assessment 100%. Some of us do not want the responsibility and what to be held accountable.
It’s about ABLP. They don’t care for Antiguans. However, Antiguans get what they vote for!
Antiguans are more than ready to hold any position in any company the world over…. Fortunately for us we have principles and we stand for something…. But then again it’s your opinion…. I’m not going to defend my Fellow Antiguans and Barbudans we will work for any company that put our countrymen and women first….
Tell them Country Boy. The jealous critics hate our beautiful, beloved country and continue to expose their treacherous, dirty backsides to their like-minded followers at home and abroad. Then you expect Antiguans to put you in charge of directing our Ship of State!? Never in your lifetime!!!!
