A Call for Change in All Saints West: The Need for Harold Lovell as UPP Leader

In the heart of All Saints West, an urgent call for change has emerged from a devoted supporter of the United Progressive Party (UPP).

The party, once vibrant and full of energy, seems to be faltering under the weight of poor attendance and disorganization, and many loyal constituents are beginning to lose hope.

This sentiment reached a tipping point recently when the much-anticipated Wisdom Wishes event, which was intended to introduce the new UPP candidate, Barbara Coates, was met with disappointing turnout for the second consecutive time.

As a long-time resident of All Saints West, I remember a time when political events would draw crowds eager to engage with party members and hear about ideas for the future.

Unfortunately, the past two events have been stark reminders of how far we have fallen. Two weeks ago, I attended the launch of Barbara Coates with high expectations.

However, what I witnessed was a disorganized event that ultimately led to its cancellation, leaving many of us feeling disheartened and frustrated.

Despite the extensive promotion through various channels—radio announcements, social media campaigns, and loudspeakers driving through the streets just days before the event—turnout was embarrassingly low.

Even a mock version of the All Saints West marketplace, designed to attract locals and create a festive atmosphere where vendors could showcase their support for our candidate, failed to generate the interest expected.

Only four vendors showed up to lend their support, and their presence did little to ignite the excitement that once characterized UPP events.

As a constitutional voter and supporter of the UPP, my disappointment has deepened with each passing event.

It is becoming increasingly evident that the party is in crisis and that proactive measures are necessary to reverse this trend. Therefore, I urge the party leadership to consider a change before it is too late.

Many in our community have turned to Harold Lovell as that man. With a proven track record of energizing our party’s base, his leadership skills are crucial as we navigate through these turbulent times.

Throughout his political career, Lovell has demonstrated a unique ability to connect with our supporters, inspire loyalty, and foster the kind of grassroots enthusiasm that can rejuvenate our party.

His experience and vision are exactly what we need as the UPP continues to lose ground.

It is imperative that we act decisively to rally support and restore faith in the UPP. We cannot afford to let this disintegration continue unchecked.

The loyal supporters and constituents of All Saints West deserve a leader who can ignite passion, bring people together, and drive meaningful change. The time for action is now.

In conclusion, I implore the UPP leadership to consider my plea as a reflection of the sentiments shared by many in our constituency. Let us come together to save our political party before it is too late.

We have the opportunity to reclaim the spirit of unity and hope with strong leadership, and I believe that Harold Lovell is the answer. Together, we can build a brighter future for All Saints West and restore the UPP to its former glory.

Respectfully,
A UPP Supporter Who is Losing Hope

  1. Does the writer of this letter no hear the leadership NAR MOVE? It was on the very Seaview Farm playing field where that pronouncement was made late last year. I have looked at developments within the UPP and I am amazed at how delusional and misguided the so called advisors and thinkers in the Party are. The UPP is clearly dying and unless serious decisions are made quickly it will be too late to save it, if it is not too late already. The country needs a strong vibrant Opposition and not a party and political leader who appears from time to tine with prepared notes for the media for public consumption. The party also seems to function on press releases which have no impact on the people.

  2. Writer your call for a change in leadership and perhaps the return of Harold Lovell makes a lot of sense but it is impossible for that to happen at this time for many reasons. I should state also that it was very shortsighted of Lovell to have resigned the leadership of the Party and quitting politics after losing by 6 votes. Even the strong Labourite James Tanny Rose felt that Harold’s decision was stupid. Be that as it may, we are where we are today and unless the UPP Party make some bold decisions now I cannot see the Party doing well in the next general elections.

  3. This is SHAMEFUL. UPP is completely demolished. I voted for Anthony Smith in the last election. I attended the event yesterday at the Sea View Farm. I could not believe that an event to introduce BARBARA COATES to the Constituency attracted LESS than 100 Persons. This is 😢 AWFUL.UPP does not have a message and have lost support.

I DO NOT have the answer but the Leaders of the party should do something immediately. My Family of EIGHT will vote for Anthony Smith next election.

  4. @Eldread – How is it when these posts made by UPP supporters don’t say or feel what yall feel, it’s ALWAYS written by someone from THE ABLP. You better wake up. I think your delusional. And the facts remains the facts!

  5. I Have 3 votes in my household, 4 if the elections is called in 2028. Anthony Smith. I am so sorry Neil, UPP lost me as soon as they lost themselves. Things are just better these days, not
    the greatest, but better…cannot lie.

  6. Hey Barbara, what’s the excuse this time?

    Was a hurricane out?

Was the field washed away by rain?

Seems the support for the dying Gisele/Pringle Puppet UPP in All Saints West is simply not there, or anywhere.

Leadership Matters. One party is on a mission of self destruction and delusion. The other is making the moves required to take our nation forward step by step.

    MASSIVE CROWD!!

  8. The call for change in All Saints West and the push for Harold Lovell as UPP leader highlights an important discussion about leadership and political direction. It’s encouraging to see people advocating for strong and experienced leadership in their constituency. However, while Lovell has a track record, the UPP must also focus on fresh perspectives and long-term strategies to appeal to a wider voter base. Simply bringing back familiar faces may not be enough to energize the electorate.

  9. The UPP should ensure it is building a dynamic and diverse team that can address the evolving needs of the people. Change must come with a clear vision and a commitment to action, not just a shift in leadership.

  10. You can continue to blame the ABLP in your delusions. The evidence is clear that the supporters are disenchanted with the leadership and the running of the party. It’s not rocket science. I don’t believe that Lovell can make any inroads to effectively change the trajectory at this time.

  11. Lovell can make a difference. Especially after seeing what is happening. But he will not make it if he continues to refuse to bring the chairman to heel. If he can’t do that then he might as well forget it.
Showing himself to be afraid of her is just not leadership looking.

  12. Lovell helped to create the MONSTER Gisele Isaac so it is much too late to tame her. Lovell as are most of the men in the UPP weaklings. As Damani Tabor said his I in Team philosophy was his downfall as a leader. He had much potential but wasted it listening to people like Gisele.

  13. @Luka
