In spite of installed burglar bars and security cameras to the building that housed the law firm Daniels Phillips and Associates located on upper St. Mary’s Street, thieves had reportedly broken into it over the long holiday weekend.
The incident was reported to have occurred late Friday night June 7, 2019 and early Saturday morning.
Reliable sources revealed that the firm which houses several attorneys was attacked when intruders forced open a bathroom window, then crow-barred and plucked off a wooden shutter that provided security to the interior of the building.
Desk draws and filing cabinets were said to have been pulled out, with documents left strewn across the floor.
No documents or electronic equipment, including the several personal laptop computers were reported stolen.
The attorneys believed that the motive was to steal money. The intruder/s were said to have stolen petty cash of just over $2,500.
The police are carrying out investigation into the weekend incident. No arrest has been made.
